    Why I hate Turners

Called up Turners Signal Hill today about doing a PPT on a OLL AR. On the phone they said no problem come down. Met up with a fellow Calgunner, and the staff proceeded to state they did not transfer OLLs. I asked to speak to the manager who then told me no as well. I insisted that on the phone they said it was ok. He called corporate who said yes on a complete rifle and no on just a lower. Then I stated, ok I have a complete rifle to transfer then. Their response was no because I could be transferring just the lower in "disguise".

LOL @ Turners. I only go there cause I need a hunting license and its a set state price.
Other than that i don't go to turners unless a buddy gets the itch to go and gawk at a 500 $ SKS

i don't hate tuners, but i understand your frustration. i've never had a smooth transfer at turners.

the latest one was a denied attempt at dros for an AK after all the paperwork was filled out. it was denied by the manager because the make of the AK being ppt'd did not match any of the manufacturers of the ones that they sold. that makes no sense to me.

another nightmare was my 50 day wait. i bought a consignment kimber from them and had to wait 30 days for a "police check" (apparently it's a pasadena city mandate). after this police check, i came in to do the dros. 10 days later, i went to go pick it up and they said that they made a mistake and dros'd it as a new gun and it got denied because i already had a new gun purchase within the last 30 days. i had to re-dros (at their cost) and wait yet another 10 days. if i had known all that was going to happen i wouldn't have bought it from them.

that being said, the turner's guys at the pasadena location are helpful and nice - even if there are occasional dros mistakes or corporate policies may suck.

I just did a ppt at turners in Chino hills and it went smooth. The staff was actually pretty friendly and seemed on top of everything. But when ever i am in any of the turners customers are always sweeping people and practicing horrible weapons safety

Turners is a joke. Shop elsewhere.

"I hate LGS"... Well, what if LGS was GONE. Ya really think the next one will be better? NONE are really worth raving about wrt customer service... I bought my first pistola from Turners. Seemed okay to me.

Never had any issues whatsoever at the Corona location, although there are a couple employees who can be pretty condescending to customers, I tend to only deal with Mike and I've never had a problem. Then again I have yet to do a PPT on an OLL at Turners.

                  They're getting there...

The last time I was there, I had to explain the rules with the DRACO pistols to one of the salesmen but admittedly, that's a complicated topic. At least they have some black rifles on the shelves now. It's a start....

FWIW, Turners has always treated me very well. They're not always the friendliest people in the world but the salesmen have to put up with a lot of idiots. (trust me, I've seen them)

I'd hate to imagine what they (employees) say about some of their customers after they walk out the door.

I went for the first time to Turners in Orange and was quite satisfied(for the most part). My GF was looking for her first handgun and they were quite helpful. Other people came into the store but she still got priority since it was her first gun and she was first there(i'm sure other people were upset as we looked at quite a bit and they only let one gun out of each case as a time). The only part that irked me was the only form of proof of residence they accepted was the lease agreement. All the bills are in my name, but her drivers license had her address on it which wasn't sufficient.

Overall, I was happy with them though. They were super friendly and their prices are super cheap. Also, for south orange county they had the best selection with prices i could match online.

Similar things as people are posting about here. Being an idiot is all a matter of perspective. I dont like Turners for various reason some are stated in this thread. But I will give them some credit as I think they have improved some when they changed ownership. Prices are slightly better I still buy all my guns online.

Best part was attempting to explain te legality of it while the back shelf was lined with AK s. I had read about new management and tried to give them a second chance.

Corporate says no. What can a salesman or manager do? Being misled is wrong though and I feel the frustration.

I always go to Turners Pasadena and have never had an issue.

I've had the same experience. Really friendly guys and they never mind me fondling the guns. I don't think they have the best selection in that area though. You can find more guns down Tustin Ave a bit at Fowler's, just be prepared for some so-so service depending on who you talk to. Some of those guys are great, some of them are terrible.

But yes, big ups to the guys at Turner's Orange. It's my go-to shop when I don't want to buy something online or it's Sunday and everyone else is closed.
