I'm not having a glass of wine, I'm having SIX. It's called a tasting and it's classy.

That's what I'm talking about!
I'd think a pistol would make more sense in a breakdown situation where you had to leave your car or have it towed. You can take a pistol with you...a rifle a little more conspicuous.
You do have concealment issues with a pistol and would probably have to go locked container if you left the car.
If SHTF then no one will care, I guess.Comment

out of curiosity... is it legal to keep a shotgun in your trunk in cali? more specifically in a truck with a lockable shell, inside of a side cabinet carpet kit thingamajigger. is it legal to keep a scattergun in there? if it is legal to UOC i dont see why not. but i was always under the assumption that you could only keep a firearm in the vehicle in cali if you were on your way to the range?Comment

I've got a truck, so no trunk gun for me. Although sometimes I seriously contemplate mounting a lockable gun rack in the cab.MY AR Profile #1Comment

When I get my car it will probably be a Lee-Enfield. If I ever get a truck, it will go in a gun rack instead. I'd probably rig something to conceal it well while I'm parked, like a curtain or something.Comment

I don't have a trunk either.Comment

For those that carry....how many spare mags?Comment

Greebo, as a matter of feline pride, would attempt to fight or rape absolutely anything, up to and including a four-horse logging wagon. Ferocious dogs would whine and hide under the stairs when Greebo sauntered down the street. Foxes Kept away from the village. Wolves made a detour. Terry PratchettComment

the back seats in my 3-series fold forward with a quick latch mechanism, and my gf knows how to do it in case something were to happen. loaded magazine and a rifle in there does not require getting out and opening the trunk. still a little lag time, but not that bad.Whats the point? By the time you get out, get your gun and load it, you are either dead or commiting a murder. Just drive off.
I carry one for long trips where I will be staying at a hotel or in case of breaking down out in the desert but since this trend as been started I seriously never could fall into it. If anything, its a security banky more than anything else.SCALIA: WTF are you talking about? We can incorporate it under due process. I hate due process and I even think that.
GURA: Uhhh
SCALIA: Are you trying to get a job at a law school?
GURA: ....Oh s***
SCALIA: SERIOUSLY STFU IF WE USE PRIVILEGES AND IMMUNITIES THESE F***OS WILL LEGITIMIZE EVERYTHING STFU STFU STFU
GURA: But you hate due process
