        I don't have a trunk on the F250 4 door...
but when traveling out of town I tend to put the mini 14 and a handfull of loaded 30 rounders behind the rear seat...

there is something visceral I have about traveling to LA especially without alot of extra ammo...and a rifle... ever since the La "Rodney" riots... a cousin was trapped about a block from where Reginal D. was beaten and all he had was a 5 shot Smith and no reloads...I try to learn from the mistakes of others...

Rarely, on long trips away from home, when I can CCW in FREE states. Or Those that honor Utah CCW. Haven't been to Nevada since they ended reciprocity.

Interesting results so far. With no effective CCW, why is this not more popular?

Whats the point? By the time you get out, get your gun and load it, you are either dead or commiting a murder. Just drive off.
I carry one for long trips where I will be staying at a hotel or in case of breaking down out in the desert but since this trend as been started I seriously never could fall into it. If anything, its a security banky more than anything else.

Most civilization is based on cowardice. It's so easy to civilize by teaching cowardice. You water down the standards which would lead to bravery. You restrain the will. You regulate the appetites. You fence in the horizons. You make a law for every movement. You deny the existence of chaos. You teach even the children to breathe slowly. You tame.

I was thinking of it more from a car breaks down / natural disaster / SHTF scenario than a self defense weapon on the fly.

No need for a truck gun yet.

The CCW is for immediate problems. The trunk gun (Ridgeline is a {sort-of} pickup with a trunk) is for anything more serious that may pop up.
                              Just drive off.
Good advice. What if you can't do that? What if you're away from home when a serious society dysfunction gets underway?

I have one at all times unless headed to CA. Because my normal trunk gun is an AK or AR in a non-CA configuration with 6 standard capacity magazines, I have to substitute something else. I bought a Saiga .308 and use 10 or less round mags just for CA.
People don't like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don't run, don't walk. We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome.
