If you are worried about the cord, you could always used a zip-tie... you can't untie it, PIA to cut.

Blackhawk has a better suggestion on their website: Take a camera company's logo (Sony, Canon, etc) and stitch it onto the Gun Pak (or whatever else you use). You won't get into weird situations where people assume you have painkillers in the bag and want them, either.

For our purposes, a camera logo is even better, as a locked camera bag is firmly in First Amendment territory. Of course, it may get a little more notice in movie theaters.

Camera bags are also ripe for criminal focus. Lenses hardly devalue, and can always be sold for a pretty good price. Cameras and camera gear gets stolen all the time.

DSLR lenses, sure. But the LUCC bags I would recommend are small enough that they'd hold a medium-size point+shoot at best.

Ya, but when you're in a store and a gunman is holding the place up, you start fishing through a camera bag and he's just going to make sure his mask is covering his face and his fly is up

I have a Maxpedition Jumbo Versipack and it's great. Originally bought it for haulin crap to work on my streetbike. It has since become the carry case for my full size DSLR and lenses. I have used it at many school band events and no one has raised an eyebrow. I have no doubt that I could slip my Kimber in along with my camera and no one would know the diff.
On a side note - does any one know if Life Jacket gun locks are Cali legal? Their site says that they pass the drop test, but I think PC states the gun must be fully enclosed?

Even better, put a "Pampers" logo on the bag and always carry around one smelly dirty used diaper. No one will want to get close to your bag! LOL

I just want to clarify that it is okay for the LUCC to be hidden. For example, it is Winter right now. So if I wear a jacket and the LUCC is on my belt, but covered it is still okay, right?

                            Great, Thanks!

But some simple 550 cord abusing the pen holder gives you a "shackle":

Could carrying this around my shoulder while riding my motorcycle to and from work be considered legal? Assuming of course it is unloaded and locked.
