I think Wally world ceasing to sell ammo will allow local vendors to do more volume in ammo sales thus being able to lower its final selling price. It will be easier to obtain and cheaper to buy from the manufacturer once wally world backs out of the ammo biz.

I highly doubt Walmart is going to stop selling ammo nationwide because of AB962. They'll just be distributing CAs portion of inventory to the rest of their non CA stores.

ditto, this won't help us at all since all wal-mart will do is just shift the ammo inventory being sent here to out of state stores. just like the same they did for gun sales.

I would love to be proved wrong as I'm dying to get one.

As for Walmart shoppin', I'm not big on supporting the export market for the People's Republic of China, so I avoid it myself.

Personally I think Walmart might discontinue some ammo sales due to two factors: AB 962 and the fact they can't keep any in stock for the past year or so. Bare shelves = lost retail sales opportunities. Walmart knows that they'll get more sales if they can devote that wasted shelf space that sits empty most of the time to higher ticket items that won't instantly sell out. Ammo is a loss leader for them, so the absence of it on their shelves serves no purpose and creates an opportunity to replace it.

You still have to pay a use tax to California even if you get it out of state.

Hmmmm, this is getting off topic but......... Here is a link my sister sent me about Walmart. It has a lot of issues regarding women, but go ahead and click on a few of the tabs and read about the store you support so you can "look out for your family" down the road. This is just the tip of the iceberg with regards to how Walmart operates.

I know, saving .50 cents on a box of Fruit Loops, $1.50 on Chinese made TV trays, or getting your 6 box limit of .40 cal ammo is more important, right?

Not only is it considered a SBS there is a law that prohibits revolving cylinders on shotguns, so it actually has 2 strikes against it.

I told everyone this is what would happen. That is the true goal of AB962. Most places like Wal*Mart are not gonna wanna do the fingerprinting and record keeping. Too much work. They knew what they were doing when they wrote this bill. It was never about criminals; this is what it was about.

I loose the sale, over time I lay off employees, the state looses tax revenue, and then we have this state "decifit" issue to deal with too. There is a definite pattern here.

Many of my sales are lost just due to the amount of what sales tax is.

Ammo aside, the current way of buying products out of state where my example above comes in to play, (that is the same as any other retailer) needs to be completed revamped.
then you need to revamp your business tactics. don't compete on price but service. sucks but in this internet world, this is what you need to do to keep your business running. you will never beat everyone out there on price, so you have to offer something that your customers can't get from internet stores.

I ain't buying it joepamjohn, the National Organization for Women has no credibility. As far as I am concerned they have sided themselves with the hypocritical leftist orgs. Supported Al Gore and have spoke out against the Promise Keepers yet have remained quiet on Islam and its treatment of women. Plus receiving funding from the Open Society Institute is enough for me to discredit them.

They said nothing when Bill Clinton failed in a simple Leadership role, easy as Leading by example, he failed and NOW did nothing but defend him.

Are there any other more credible sites or information about WalMart policy's and ethics we can rely on to make a reasonable decision regarding our shopping preferences?
