That's why we say 30 24 hour periods.
It ends up being 31 days after the DROS was entered if you count the day of DROS as day 1.
The problem with counting the DROS day as day 1 is that 24 hours have not lapsed when you got to day 1 which is why the DROS day is day 0.
We are on the same page. DROS entered on the 28th, went back 30 days later on the 27th after my set time. 15 minutes after the 30, 24 hour periods were up it was still showing pending. PC 28220 calls for "immediate" notification to dealer. It was moved the following morning, but still annoying to "play by the rules" and still leave my LGS empty-handed after waiting thirty days. If CA wants to be pedantic, "must wait until the EXACT SECOND to release DROS," I can play by the same rules too.

    TRANSACTION DATE TIME: 12/28/2022
    EARLIEST DELIVERY DATE/TIME: 1/28/2023
    LATEST DELIVERY DATE/TIME: 2/27/2023

This is what I was worried about; fudd getting in the way and/or DOJ BOF possibly playing games to see how far they can push "release number" bologna and potentially making ffl's nervous about releasing on undetermined. My FFL stayed solid, but I could see the visible confusion on their faces when it hadn't changed to Undetermined after confirming we hit 30, 24 hr. periods, hence the second-guessing about the delay notice date and how it (didn't) play into account.

More bologna, (on FFL/DOJ's part, not you Deelayed )

PC 28220 is quite clear, again:

pursuant to this section, the department shall immediately notify the dealer and the dealer may then immediately transfer the firearm to the purchaser,

I was delayed 3 times over the summer, the first 2 ended in undetermined releases. I'm happy to report that the last delay was approved 2 weeks later and I've had no issue on my last 3 transactions. So things can get better.

How long did it take before it was able to be released to you from the time of undetermined ?

I hear you . It's bad enough that they craft up these over worded laws that do everything except give concise, logical , and /or sensible conclusions as derived from the actual necessity and wording of the law , but then to not abide by their own rules ? it should be a restitutional
required offense meaning that restitution would be required to pay the debt to the citizens they are basically playing childish games with . I know make them serve 2~3 consecutive days out in the desert picking up shot shells and broken glass requiring that an entire perimeter must be cleaned before release and then tell them darn your release is being delayed . And it looks like the person signing you out today does not release on undetermined. It needs work but the foundation is there

Common sense would dictate that a person sho has completed the background check would come up cleared when another purchase is made. Technology exsists that would flag that person if any prohibitive events had taken place since the cleared background check

Actually "common sense" historically dictates that the state of Crap-O-Fornica don't give a crap about common sense.

Have you received your Firearms background check yet? If not, please let us know as soon as you receive it. I'm curious if it's the same info as a DOJ background check, like a record review and if there is any information, other than your arrests and convictions and court cases.

I received it in yesterday's mail it's not much different than my other live scans it shows when I had my live scan for my teaching credentials for CDCR I taught there. The criminal record shows a 415 PC which was for a loud party, I had a party celebrating my first born I was not arrested for or taken to jail or had to go to court for back in 1987 why that is there I have no Idea. Oh, and looking at the dates they may have been sitting on this since Oct 14th, 2022, and finally got around to sending this out they claim to be understaffed but this is too much we pay some of the highest state taxes in the country for this

Hi All and thanks OP for this thread. I am unfortunately one of the latest to be delayed by DOJ, but somewhat relieved to see I'm not alone. Hard to believe someone with a CCW getting delayed. Last Monday was my 10th day to pick up my 10/22 receiver and to my surprise, my FFL (RMB Enterprises) tells me DOJ has delayed my purchase. He also said delays have been happening a lot lately and that he'll call me when it's ready. Been buying at least 1 firearm per year since 2009 and this has never happened. Fingers crossed that DOJ releases my purchase. I'll follow up once I hear back from my FFL. If anyone here is familiar with RMB Enterprises, I'd like to know if Rob releases on "undetermined" results? I keep telling myself no more purchases. I think this is a sign.

I keep telling myself the same thing . So anyways, I had 2 delays to undetermined and this last one was good on the 11th day . I don't know how or what the requisites are for going delay it must be random. Who knows . Only way to find out is to .....make another purchase.. yes it is a vicious circle
