Recent true story on FFL - I (buyer) did a PPT recently at 137 miles (one-way) as seller requested.

    PPT went find.

Showed up 10 days later for pickup. Temp sign on the door says "we're closed today, sorry". Fedex miss delivery tag was also on the door. I showed up during regular normal posted business hours.

I casually asked neighboring merchant to see if something was wrong to the FFL owner or may he is just late opening up.

Come to find out FFL was sick due to Covid. Although I drove a long way, I was satisfy with the reasoning. I'll come back when FFL feels better/recover.

Just when I was about to drove off, merchant come waving me down and said FFL owner will get out of his sick bed and be here in 20 mins. I said he didn't have to, merchant said he realized you drove a long way and he had to buy meds at CVS anyways.

The moral of the story is I needed that FFL to complete my transfer, its in his hands now. I could've not buy that gun so far away but it was my decision to do so. Sometimes there's a reason for everything, if the sick FFL is lying so be it, its on him, but in situation like this where you put others at control, there is not much you can do except be patient and then some more.

No, not seeing it - disagree.

And the title of the thread is still a click-bait lie. So there's that.

I think Audiophil exhibited some decency, patience, restraint from throwing in the towel, with a temerity to see it through without applying any spiteful tactics. His posts have been matter of fact, without the hyperbole or uneccessary words.

      All's well that ends hell.

My business will crumble without your non existent spending. Darn.

The nice thing about how I work is that for every guy that complains about me and says he will tell guys not to use my services, 5 other customers that understand life is not perfect send people my way. Probably why I have zero advertising costs. There is an endless # of people going to me because I am the best in the business. The others damage guns. I have guys that want to go cheaper and use my competitors. Then they come to me saying they were wrong because their gun was jacked up. I have all the emails and PMs naming the FFLs that started doing this work or moved out of CA after seeing how I did my work. So I cna be a jerk all I want to problem people and I can fire my customers. I have done that with a long blacklist. A lot come begging back to me and I remind them of all the curse words and threats they made. I tell them if they can't be a man of thier work and not use my services I will help them be a man by ignoring thier pleas. I have those conversations stored as well.

For almost a year I was not even on calguns. Too busy. When I am on a 5 minute lunch or not sleeping well I will cruise the forum. It just worked out that i saw this thread after not bothering with calguns for weeks.

Sometimes a series of events occur that someone has no control over. SOmetimes those events are personal. I don't need ot explain my personal life to anyone but I do when it is not extremely personal.
