Feel the same way about him. Though I didn't feel that he was worth the time to quote.
    Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

LOL.. You need to see how a lot of CCW holders in this state shoot...just as bad as most cops and with a only fraction of the training...collateral damage is inevitable.

^^^I totally agree^^^. I don’t know if the shooting was legitimate or not, but what I do know is that the parents said that their son (32 years old and not a child) had mental health issues. This probably isn’t the first time that he had done something like this. I feel for the families of people who have been killed by gunshot, etc... for something like this or a petty crime, robbery, etc... but turning a blind eye to things like this also contributed to the death of their loved one. The MSM only likes to show what happened in the end and not how we got to where we are. An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure.

As for the former LAPD officer. Maybe he should have used better restraint in drawing and firing his firearm. If his lawyer can convince the jury that he was under attack and used his firearm to protect his family and himself from a potentially lethal attack then he’ll be ok. If the prosecutor makes a better argument about negligent use/discharge of a firearm then he’s in trouble. In any case he and his family are going to be pushed into bankruptcy trying to defend him.

I don’t believe any of us commenting have full knowledge of what transpired. The devil is always in the details. I don’t know all the facts of this case. I could see a possible set of facts that would justify the shooting of the son and though unlikely even of the parents. I could also see a possible set of facts where they should lock the shooter up and throw away the key. Again I don’t know the facts so I will not pass judgement.

You do know that Costco policy is to prohibit firearms in their stores. That does not mean that I have not done it. In fact, I saw one gentleman open carrying in the Coeur d'Alene Costco and have seen others where their handgun was not well concealed.

I agree. But the DA did take it to the GJ and could not get an indictment. That tells me the case is weak and that the CA AG is a political POS, but I already knew that.

The thing is that the DA gets to pick and choose what he wants to present to the Grand Jury, it doesn't have to be complete and it will always be secret so they could have presented just the officer's side of the story with no other witness statements to guaranty that the officer wasn't charged.

DA's often present purposely weak evidence to make a public show of them trying to get "justice" without actually doing anything to risk the police officers involved.

What you say is, of course, a possibility.

                      ^This 100%. All for show.

You can indict a ham sandwich. Unless the DA doesn't really want to.

"I thought I was shot in the head" BS excuse. He has this coming and then some.

But you are right about it being political though. The Riverside DA refused to charge and supposedly couldn't get a true bill for political reasons.

Innocent until proven guilty still applies and I know nothing of the facts, yet .

Betting if this guy was a fed no charges would be filed and many in the press would be saying how brave the agent was to be faced such a threat .

So even though each was only shot once the crime gets an enhancement because the shooter had the opportunity to shoot him over 10 times. Guess I'll start carrying a 8 shot revolver.

Yes I dare to have an opinion.

You dont have to be anti LE to want to seek justice. From what I have gathered this has all the hallmarks of an unreasonable/ unjustified use of force. Apparently the AG thinks so also although I usually regard his intentions as dubious. LAPD also determined the shoot to be out of policy. Something you dont see very often. In this case he is doing the right thing considering the Riverside DA didnt want to alienate his political and professional allies and friends by doing his job.

And edit from my previous post. It was two unarmed members of the family shot in the back. Kenneth and his mother.
