I started out with nothing - and I still have most of it -
My XD9 tactical has thousands of rounds through the gun, probably at least 5-6k at this point? I've experienced zero failures. No extraction issues, no FTF or soft firing pin strikes. Original everything. I clean it after each use and use Rem Oil for lubrication.
One criticism is that I'm ready for iron sights that are a bit more hi-viz.
It's on my radar to pick-up a 4" service model before too long.
My CCW is a S&W shield and I'm looking for a glock19, so definitely not a Glock hater, just LOVE my XD (especially the grip safety)Last edited by MissiontoMars; 08-28-2020, 7:54 AM.Comment

Buying a safe and sane firework is like paying a hooker for a hug. I do not see the appeal in it.Comment

SHHHHHHH Don't say anything in hopes it stays that way! It's almost like the XD is the most out in the open, best-kept secret!"After a shooting spree, they always want to take the guns away from the people who didn't do it. I sure as hell wouldn't want to live in a society where the only people allowed guns are the police and the military." - William S. The bore axis on the XD is almost identical to a 1911, which also has a "stupid grip safety."
If you can't admit it to us that you have no idea what you're talking about, you should at least admit it to yourself haha"After a shooting spree, they always want to take the guns away from the people who didn't do it. As someone else mentioned, it's all about personal preference. For me, the XD just felt better in hand. No other reason."Pride costs us more than hunger, thirst, and cold." - Thomas JeffersonComment

Please tell us more about this critical weakness and this Smith guy you are referring to.There is one critical weakness of the xd. The way the gun is designed the safety can break and the slide can get stuck with a live round in the chamber. Then you have to either bring it to a gun Smith or send it to Springfield in the condition. I have nothing against the xd btw
I have never heard this before or seen evidence of it. It doesn't mean it isn't true, but it smacks of internet BS from an unreliable keyboard jockey.Expert firearms attorney: https://www.rwslaw.com/team/adam-j-richards/
