I like XD's they seem to be built heavy duty, they have the HD Gen 4 style recoil spring assembly, no finger groove, come with steel sights, heavy duty take down lever design, less chance on breakage , the Glock just has a thin leaf spring and tiny slide lock that can fail and the slide can fall right off

I dont consider it a Springfield Armory gun, it's a Croatian designed military pistol marketed in the US with SA name stamped on it , thats 100% made by the Croatians

I had one. It was very comfortable in my hand. I loved that. I however could not hit the broadside of a barn with it so I sold it. I do wish I had kept it longer and gave it more of a chance, likely if the panic ever dies down I will pick up another to try again. Thought about possibly throwing up an AR for a trade......

There is nothing wrong with the XD line of pistols. I use an XDm Competition for IDPA, have an XD9 for home defense, and an XD9 V10 just to play with. I learned to shoot with a Glock, but I think the grip angle on the XD's are way better.

It’s usually glock fanbois, shooting instructors who shoot glocks, and paid glock shills hate them. They’ll tell you they suck because they saw a failure at the range 15 years ago when they first came out. But neglect to recognize the glock failures or reloaded ammo that was the problem

I have a xd 45 compact. I love it. I think it is a perfect california gun. 10 rounds of 45 acp flush fit, same size as glock 19, factory steel sights, finish much more durable than Dan Wesson or current Glock finishes, and harder polymer than glock polymer.

I have quite a variety and can't really say there's anything fundamentally wrong with any of them.. wouldn't hesitate to carry any of them for intended use.. I do prefer some over others but not the point of bashing my least favorite..

bought this plain jane ordinary xd9 in 2003, no complaints from me or any of the dozens of others who have fired it..

got a lot of miles on it and it's never failed with various ammo..



this xds45 is a handful but controllable and performs as advertised.. no failures from it either.. beware, better hang on tight with fed +p hydroshocks in the mag

I have 3 xd's. 2 9mm 4" service (1 for each hand) and a sub-compact 40. got all 3 of them here on cal-guns a few years ago when they were on the cheap.They work just fine

I have a xdm45 with the long barrel. 10 rounds of 45 is nice. I haven't tried to shoot any barns but I bet I could hit most of them.

I think it's great that XD's have been more abundant. Their prices, though inflated, are still less than Glocks. I've been telling folks interested in guns the past couple months to go pick up one of the various XD models.

I have five XDs but I also have more Glocks as well as Sig and HK. Nothing wrong with them.

There is nothing wrong with the XD line. However, some rag on it because:

- it is not an expensive gun
- It is not a Glock or CZ, etc
- Springfield, as a company, has made some political choices that have offended or alienated some in the 2A community
- Some do not like or want grip-safeties
- Not as many after market upgrade parts
- As a California roster handgun, it is not the newest thing on the block
- haters like to hate

However, none of these reasons have kept me from using one and being able to reliably put rounds down range.

Is it perfect? No. Personally, I have upgraded a trigger, sights and switched out an extended mag release button on my XD.

Could I have spent more money on another handgun that had all the features that I wanted? Perhaps. But at the time I bought an XD, I chose it as my first handgun with the thought that it was moderately priced and allowed me to learn about shooting without breaking the bank and in case shooting was something that I ultimately found I did not like. Additionally, it fit my hand and as such "spoke to me" in a way that a Shield or Glock did not do at the time. Lastly, as a new shooter, I felt a little safer to begin with having the grip safety.

Would I buy another XD? Again perhaps but in all honesty, it is not a VP9

Totally agree. I like my XDm-9 OD. And it came with a sticker on the case that I absolutely LOVE!
