      Your overly simplified viewpoint, centered in your wishful thinking and clearly lacking a law degree or any formal education in constitutional law and precedent, is a nice fantasy that is NOT grounded in fact / reality and never has been, even at the time the Constitution was written.

      PS: you used binary wrong...

        Compared to you, we are uneducated peons.

          and you think AZ will allow you to carry? LMAO! AZ is very conservative and doesn’t like your kind, especially one with a past such as yours.

            Oh I do understand the difference, and I also understand as do most, given that we complain about it often in this forum, how the plea bargin system works and its significant contribution to the failure of the criminal justice system.

            I suggest you apply for a "non-resident" Arizonia CCW and see what happens. Its minimal work / research on your part and theoretically, if you can own a gun, you should be able to get the Az. permit but who knows. If you get one, it may bolster your case here in CA.

              Wow! Thats a bit of an assumption not in evidence yet...even I would never assert that.

                  So when do you move from criminal to law abiding? After paying a fine? Community service? Jail? Prison? Graduate degree? Honorable discharge?

                  I know a guy. He has a criminal history. He's has a CCW (in CA, and two other states), and holds an active TS clearance in Fed Govt.

                  Law abiding citizens with criminal history...ARE walking the streets.

                    As always the severity of the crime has material impact on who gets what after the fact

                          Cool. That is the difference Between a shall issue and a may issue state. As others appointed out, some jurisdictions in California may will issue you a CCW but certainly in southern California that would be unlikely in the opinion of most. That said only the issuing authority can speak for certain.

                              Moral Turpitude Law and Legal Definition

                              Turpitude means a corrupt or depraved or degenerate act or practice. Moral turpitude refers generally to conduct that shocks the public conscience. Offenses such as murder, voluntary manslaughter, kidnapping, robbery, and aggravated assaults involve moral turpitude. However, assaults not involving dangerous weapons or evil intent have been held not to involve moral turpitude.

                              Conviction of crimes of moral turpitude may also disqualify someone from an employment opportunity. The precise definition of a crime that involves moral turpitude isn't always clear, but the following crimes are always considered crimes of moral turpitude:

                              murder;
                              voluntary manslaughter;
                              rape;
                              statutory rape;
                              domestic violence;
                              prostitution;
                              fraud and crimes where fraud is an element
                              all theft offenses (but see receipt of stolen property below);
                              blackmail;
                              malicious destruction of property;
                              arson;
                              alien smuggling;
                              harboring a fugitive;
                              bribery;
                              perjury
