Not in San Bernardino, but I had a dui seven years before I got my CCW. They questioned me about it, I think they will definitely looks into it. Mine was one and done, since you have multiple it may play more of a role. Good luck and thank you for turning your life around.Comment

22 to 26 is ONLY 4 years. Not exactly ancient history (especially as the courts and LE look at it). In the end, it depends on the issuing agency. I can speak for OC (my County) they are VERY strict on this stuff. I've heard of people denied for speeding and traffic tickets. Hell, up until recently possession of amphetamines was a felony wobler and you could have had NO gun rights now. I would not apply in OC with your record, but maybe SB is different. Perhaps someone here can give us more on point info as to SB.Comment

4 years is not a lot of time to show you put such behavior behind you. I am not an expert but it is my understanding San Bernardino Co likes to see 10 years of good behavior after such problems. If I were you I would apply anyway or at least discuss it with them because worst that can happen is they say no and you try again in a few years.Last edited by 71MUSTY; 12-07-2019, 6:38 PM.Only slaves don't need guns

We already have the only reasonable Gun Control we need, It's called the Second Amendment and it's the government it controls.

Sheriff McMahon wants every law abiding citizen to have a CCW. Contact the Sheriff's department and go from there. What's the worse thing that can happen? It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

Apply. It is the ONLY way you will know for sure.
Just understand, in your 26 years, you have had more "involvement" with the law than many will have in a lifetime, and that your last arrest was ONLY four years ago.Benefactor Life Member, National Rifle Association

Most police departments would have no problem hiring you with drug offenses. Probably easier to go that route.sigpic

OP...in your application, you'll need to recount the confiscation of your firearms story relayed on this forum.
You've had an interesting life in just 26 years. Let us all know the outcome of your application.Last edited by Jeepergeo; 12-07-2019, 7:32 PM.Benefactor Life Member, National Rifle Association

Turned your life around?
Dude, yer still a young’un!!!
Everyone takes time to grow up, it’s just a matter of how much paperwork is involved.
Look, if you can legally buy a firearm, you just need to justify that you have your head on straight now.Originally posted by ysr_racerPlease don't bring logic and reason into an interwebs discussion

A lot of info to go over and I'm sure there is more to the story......make an appointment with the agency you wish to get your CCW with and have a sit down and spill you story out......they will know it all when and if you apply so get it all on the table. They will be able to tell you if and when you should apply. Don't be surprised if they tell you to come back in two years and see where your at in life.JACComment
