Lol, sad but true. I only show my FIL some of my guns, and that just because he is also a gun nut. The rest of my wife's family, nope.

My wife doesn’t even know what I have. I sure wouldn’t show some kids.

lot of scared gun owners out there - while i won't say their fear isn't warranted it's a shame they have to feel that way

i really think one reason we're seeing the erosion of gun rights is the fact that gun owners aren't vocal enough about keeping their rights - look how many we see on this forum alone that are afraid to even admit they are gun owners - closet gun owners, no wonder we're losing ground - sure, they'll come in here and talk guns under protections of anonymity but every other aspect of their gun owning life is shrouded under a veil of secrecy - but that's another thread

i've NEVER concealed my zest for firearms - people don't like it F**K EM, i really don't care what they think or how they feel

i thought it was great that i could take kids who never had much exposure to firearms and teach them something, and i am a good teacher - even as timid as some of the kids were, i knew once they had a little bit of a grasp of what to do they would enjoy it - i was never wrong

the proof of the pie was always in the drive home - hearing them talk about how much fun they had, how well they did, the excitement over the experience they had - they always had a good time and that was good enough for me

I haven't done this yet, but I'm planning to tell my daughter not to tell anyone that we have firearms and not to ask to see firearms when nonfamily is over.

If she forgets and ask while her friend is over, I would just say, "Not now sweetie".

I would have a conversation with my kid. No one outside of the family needs to know there are guns in the house. Don’t talk to classmates, teachers, doctors, etc. about what is in the house.

It isn't fear, it simply is not my business to introduce other people's children to firearms. This decision is not my right to make.

Would you show your banking information to strangers? How about your medical information?

Why even think about it? Have you not read the news?

Plan a desert shooting trip with your kid and invite the father and his daughter to come along. Ask the father before even mentioning it to the friend.
