My grandchildren tell me that, once reviewed, the Snapchat auto-deletes.

Procrastination is a decision. You don't have the resources to investigate...get this into the hands of someone that does immediately.

I'm at work and my daughter is at school. If I plan to talk to her tonight how is that procrastinating?

Without a name do I just tell the cops "some kid" is trying to sell guns. How would that go anywhere? I have to start with a name and I don't need any resources to get it from my daughter.

That's the evil of snapchat and why kids use it!

                Listen to him. ^^^^

You do not need to find anything out. The PD's/investigators are able to do all that and figure out everything.

Suggestion...ask your daughter to send the kid a note asking for a resend of that "cool" snapchat.

When it arrives, take a picture of it on your phone.

Seriously? I don't even know what school he goes to. How would they ever find him?

                      NO WAY!

She knows who it is and I will get a name tonight. I don't want to do ANYTHING to give away who might have snitched.

I'm talking to my daughter later today to find out the kids name. She doesn't want to tell me but I've explained the importance to her and that it's the right thing to do.

After surviving two daughters and an 18-year old grandson, I wish you luck with that.

Taking a screenshot and knowing the quick photo button are very important skills.

It might all be a kid trying to be "cool" and saying that he has them for sale but without knowing the full details you are really just spinning your wheels for potentially nothing. It would just be important for your daughter to know that you're on her side and that this is not a joke. If she feels like the kid is serious then urge her to stay away from him. Show her that you trust her and then she'll hopefully make the right call and not resent you for being a narc, snitch, party pooper. If she knows you are going to do this all the time then she'll just not show you things anymore and that's probably worse.

                              Correct answer.
