Standard Cap Magazines At Gun Range

Been taking standard capacity mags to the range for years now.

Manufacturers of 10/30 mags seem to have defined it well enough that modifying stock mags to hold 30 rounds (or standard capacity) usually requires some tools and replacement parts.

Depending on skill, tool access, etc., "permanent" can mean many different things to many different people. It all goes back to the stupidity of these laws.
In a SHTF scenario, someone with a drill and a modicum of skill can convert 10/30 to 30 rnd mag, but the poor millennial fool without a drill and who only bought 10 rnd mags is at a disadvantage. I'm not a fan of the millennial generation, but why should they be at a disadvantage when it comes to self defense just because they don't know how to use a drill?
Basically, this is a very round-about statement of support for Benitez's (AKA "Cali-Savior") nomagcap ruling.

Burro Canyon on the weekdays, sometimes you get the whole "public" range to yourself, do all the mag dumps you want.

Depends on who's working that day. One of the guys has a stick up his *** and won't let anyone rapid fire. He even ordered me to stop shooting just because I was spending my remaining rounds purposely destroying my target stand.

Not knowing how to use a drill does not equate to "giving up on liberty"...maybe his dad was a college professor who paid for all manual labor around the house so the kid has no hands-on experience.
Firearms are an equalizer so that the 6'5" muscled bully a**hat can't wantonly beat the s**t out of 5'5" weaklings.
It's kind of fundamental and I think it's pretty obvious to most....

all these posts on problems with public ranges and people wonder why i drive 1.5 hours to the desert to AVOID all this crap

When I go shooting with the youngins I specifically go to BLM or remote property owned by buddies. The ranges can be painful.

I've used 10/30s and 30s at Los Altos before with no issues. From what I've heard, as long as you drive at 3 mph in the lot and don't touch your arms during cease fire, they can be pretty lax in other areas.

Haha. That dude is a trip....He came running in on the rifle side on me and grabbed my AR out of my hands because he said it looked like I was changing mags too fast to be legal....with a fixed mag Juggernaut kit installed

Never been there but I'm not really surprised all things considered...but I do want to try it out because it seems like a nice set-up and also I love mountains.

I am, but the people I shoot with are mostly Asian.
Thank you for the heads-up. Not a lot of options in the South Bay...maybe three (Sunnyvale, Los Altos, Metcalfe).

A lot of Asian friends shoot there too, I guess as long as your friends don't bump into some staff, they should be fine.
