I draw from concealment (they run open and concealed "divisions"), strong hand/weak hand shooting, shooting on the move, reloads on the move, using simplified cover (standing and using barricades), etc.

It's not hardcore training but it keeps me sharp with weapon manipulation. I also do dry fire practice like I do with my competition setup. This goes to #6.

The rest of the stuff you mention is also important.

#4 is the biggest one I think. A lot of people can't walk away when they are not armed, just think about the ego's when they feel they have the advantage of a gun. Personally I have never let things bother me like that. At 6'4" and 300 lb I rarely have to deal with anyway.

#8 I personally get via competition but everyone should get some dummy rounds and have a buddy randomly put them in your mags (or not!) and practice practice practice. Learn the two primary methods only and apply them to all scenarios. Tap/rack and strip/rack/rack/rack/reload.

#9 is tougher as a real trauma kit is not something easy to pack around daily. To have one in your backpack or car though is good. And learn to use it's components. A tourniquet is easy enough to EDC but I'll admit I don't carry one outside my trauma kit.

    Great points Broadside.

I know this is not the norm but something for me personally why I don't do competition because it is forward threat focused. I'm not sure how they run your Combat pistol league but I know in IDPA an other comps you're running past your previous concealment without clearing the corner or the barrier or checking your six before clearing the corner or barrier and it becomes your trained response. Unless you don't care about your times and want to look tacticool or really treat your competition as Defensive Pistol I guess you can integrate those aspects into your shooting string.

I have the benefit of shooting in a 360 degree range rather than 180 range rules so almost everything can be integrated into my training.

Pressing the trigger and being able to hit any target at any distance is the easiest thing to do even with your expensive defensive ammo but the other things that surround that are too often forgotten.

If you don't have a 360 degree range, clear your weapon and use your living room or even EVERY room in your house. You may be more likely to be using that weapon at home than on the street.

and it should actually be renamed EMC (every minute carry). you don't take off your gun and put it in the safe when you come home. If you feel like your gun is like your shoes and you need to free yourself from it, reconsider your thinking and what is involved in personal self protection.

I do shoot my EDC every 2 years at refresher course ... 20 rounds every 2 years

CCW since 2003 x 8 refresher course = 160 rounds + maybe about a box when I first bought it total is 210 rounds

      S&W 340 PD Titanium .357 mag ... but guess what ... I load EDC with standard .38

I have many other guns to shoot and practice with - I have a S&W 442 that is exact same as 340PD 'cept it's not titanium ... chambered for .38 +P ... but I'm a wuss so I just shoot the .38 standards

Like most folks, I don't have access to 360 degree training. But I do think about how I'd manage clearing/scanning, especially my home. I would hope most do as well.

I care about my times and scores so I compete in the game I am playing. It just reinforces dealing with malfunctions, weapon manipulation, reloading, point shooting, etc.. It's not great for actual defensive/tactical "processes" like clearing a room, checking your rear, etc, but it builds muscle memory and skills you don't have to "think about" and just do, allowing you to focus on the tactical issues.

I agree about "every minute carry". Gun goes on with my pants and comes off with my pants even if I am at home all day, except where I am not allowed to have it like at work (unfortunately).

But not everyone can train or compete regularly and I know a large portion of CCW holders don't. I wish though would though.
