I am pleased to see so many that actually do put some rounds through their pistols. I assumed as much here as anyone that frequents a forum like this more than likely would use their pistols

I shoot my EDC ever other range trip (or so), my confidence is very hi with this piece.

I also only shoot one load with defense ammo, as it shoots exactly like my range fodder.

I do shoot all my CCW weapons on occasions, feel good about all of them, don't carry them all though, but can if I chose.

Yes, I do shoot my EDC and defensive arms regularly.

IMO everyone should be shooting their defensive arms with their defensive ammo regularly so they have 100% confidence in their equipment.

I would like to shoot my defensive ammo Federal HST 150g micro more often but at $1.50 per round vs. .16 per round I just can not afford to shoot it all that often.

I used mine as often as I can.

Because I've got two G19 and G30s on my license, I alternate which of each I use at any given time. Some ranges frown upon ripping a concealed gun out at the range

There is no way I would rely upon using just one of them. I want to be 100% certain they work.

I also shoot at least two magazines of my chosen defensive ammo to ensure it still is happy with my guns.

I get that I'll not likely wear it out with shooting, but why put the extra miles on it or take the chance? Sure the EDC will get the 5,000 round inaugural torture test, but once you pop that cherry why do any more?

I don't get why some guys are so particular about their expensive defensive ammo that they cycle it through their gun before it's imaginary expiration date, but then you're gonna eat into its reliability by putting more rounds downrange for training? Find a known good condition, and stay there.
I have shot my carry G19 at least 850 documented rounds since the start of 2019, and this pace is not uncommon.

Shooting your EDC once a quarter just to "knock the dust off" is not a theory I would subscribe to.

Shooting often not only means I remain proficient, but it also means I'm taking care of the gun from a cleaning and maintenance perspective. Nothing worse than seeing someone's neglected "life saving device" because it's dry/dirty/rusted and never gets any attention.

Every time I shoot I run at least two of the three options I carry. I am likely typical of most long time carriers.. I tend to carry the smallest the most a G .380. Kind of stupid not be real familiar with the weapon you might need the most.

If you carry everyday the pistol / revolver should be at least checked for function on a regular basis. You never know when some sort of goo ball, lint or other obstruction might find it's way into your rig. When you need it is not the time to find out.

My pocket 380's are fired at least once every two weeks. My main carry pistols, 9mm and 45 Shield, about once a month. Nice thing about living in Arizona is I can turn off the highway and drive to a desolate area to practice whenever the mood strikes.

Same thought. For each range trip, I'll shoot (edc) 20 rounds to make sure it is functioning then shoot the (twin) for the remaining time.

I tend to shoot all of my EDC majority of the time at the range. Always bring many other options but they don't get the same attention, or trigger time.
