I don't see the need to shoot every pistol on my CCW on a regular basis. If I decide to change my EDC then I definitely would go to the range prior to carrying it.

Both, I think it is a good idea to have a back up for your EDC...

Same here other than my 22 Buck Mark, it's jus to much fun not to shoot and inexpensive compared to the 9...
