I tried to close my account, but as the funds are still "pending transfer" for the gun sale that cuased this mess, I'll have to wait for the satisfaction.

The problem is that when I see listings on GB or even here that say "cashiers check or money order only", that is too much of a PITA- going to the bank, creating an envelope or postal pouch, and then the wait of 2-3 days until the seller receives it, and then the risk of payment being lost in the mail...... That is why Paypal is necessary, to make transactions that are not local go smoother, or even happen at all. I can understand why Ebay has the anti-gun stance, because they would be hosting the sale, and hence maybe some exposure to liability. Paypal is just a way to transport $$ from CC or Bank, really no different than using a CC directly.

Paypal is a convenience, not a necessity. Convenience is not necessary, but it is convenient. You are free to choose to continue with paypal, and by doing so you are using your rights as an American. I fully support your choice to do so.

Personally, though, I choose to avoid stoking the fires of a blatantly anti-gun group.

I encourage everyone to make their own choice.

Nobody else has thought to buy a prepaid credit card and link that to your paypal/online purchases? I never link any internet purchase to anything other than my "greendot" prepaid visa card. you cant steal/freeze whats not there. It sits at a zero balance until I need to buy something, then I charge it up and spend it all. That doesnt help much for consistent sellers, but it offers protection as a buyer and thats all i need.

I use Paypal because it is easy to transfer funds. Yes if I stopped using every anti-gun or place that was against my believes I would not wear designer shoes or clothes. Drive my car, buy gas or anything I would be a hippie of sorts

How hard is it to sell something like a gun and call it A/C Condesner like I did for my Kimber Custom II that I just sold last week to a member here. I often send money to sellers marked R/C Racing Parts or Car Parts he he That is your bad if you get caught, either use PM's or E-Mail to discuss these things before you say anything you might regret later.

Also most forums, not sure about cgn have a statement stating that all PM's in any of your sections can be read without any kind of notice. So be careful as to what you say there too! I know gmail aka Google Mail saves deleted messages for 6 months or something in their servers and also sales off that info or info from there to marketing companies

I've used PayPal since the very beginning with no problems but I've seen and heard enough negative reports to make me seriously consider saying goodbye. And especially after Ebay changed the rules making PayPal the only method of payment for Ebay auctions. Between the credit card banks cutting my credit limit, jacking my interest rates to sky-high numbers and PayPal's shenanigans enough is enough!

The biggest gimmick was that people would list 15 round Beretta and Glock mags, but in their descriptions say "Holds 10 rounds as per Ebay rules," while at the same time showing clear pictures of the round-count holes in the back of the mags. You would see tons of Beretta 92 mags on there with that third hole (15).
