I swore not to buy any Glocks.....and kept that word for a long time.

Finally tried out a G34 and was pleasantly surprised how well it shot....like VERY well. The ergos were fine and recoil was minimal. That gun soon took over bedside duty from an SP-01 Tactical.

After i got my CCW, figured I’d try a G26.....likewise, a pretty sweet shooter for it’s small size. Added to my carry and it’s my daily.

Soon added a G30S for 45acp carry.....another nice shooter in a small package.

The minimalist design and ergos work for me....and the reliability and commonality of each one. Point ‘n shoot, striker-fired, dependable duty.

I like shooting them just as much as my nice target guns.

Tried a friend’s Hi Point once....what a fat, ugly, heavy gun. Shot ok, but not as good as Glock, for me. Would never buy one......

        Wow, this again?

        Serious question.

If you're shot in the chest with a 9mm Hi-Point does it hurt less or make a smaller hole than being shot in the chest with a 9mm Glock?

Yeah, so they are the same gun I guess. How come I cant find any good deals on used police trade in Hipoints? Been looking for them forever.

It that Hi Point warranty. They don't need to trade them in.

So no real answer then, okay.

The simple fact is regardless of whether it's a Hi Point or a Glock if you shoot the bad guy in the right place he will drop.

Is the Hi Point ugly, oh hell yes.
But then again so is the Glock.

Would I trade my bobtail Commander customized by Jim Hoag for a Hi Point, hell no.
Would I mock someone for owning one if that's what their budget dictated, also hell no.

Would I tell someone not to buy a Hi Point to defend their home and family if that's all they could afford, again hell no.

Glock is the only thing they are comparable to, bothers the Glock guys though.

Theres no way in any universe where a Glock is as ugly as a Hipoint. Unless, you just really really hate plastic and cant get over that.

Anybody that used one illegally could have just sent it in for a new one. Easy disposal and replacement. Never have to buy another one, just keep getting it replaced. Must be crazy cheap to produce to offer that kind of warranty. Probably like $20 for Hipoint to make one. I wonder how much Glocks cost to manufacture?

That is a matter of opinion.

I own several Glocks and to me they are ugly and un-ergonomic, akin to holding on to a furrowing strip.

I also own polymer handguns by Springfield, S&W, Kahr, Grendel and Ruger. It's not the 'plastic' trust me.

Im not just mocking poor people, Im mocking criminals. Yes, a lot of criminals are poor but not all poor people are criminals. And a lot of poor people and criminals use Glocks too. Glocks gotta be at least the 2nd most confiscated gun among criminals in some cities. I just think its really a stretch to call them equals.

I guess what Im really asking is if you were ever in a bad situation where you needed a gun to save your life and you walked into a room where a Glock and a Hipoint were laying on a table, which one would you choose? The cost did not matter, you could just pick whichever one you wanted to. And that would be the only gun you could have.

Guess you could do same with Glock changing barrel if that's what you talking about with easy disposal and replacement, but from what I've read if you break your Hi Point your getting same gun, same serial number back like new. They must melt the plastic and remold it.

If $20 for a Hi Point, my guess is probably $25 for a Glock.

Haha, thats pure comedy gold right there. You think using zinc pot metal saves Hipoint $5 or 20%? Glocks got to cost at least 3x what it costs to make a Hipoint.
