    HiPoint Vs. Glock

It seems some Calguns members think Hipoints are not only equal to Glocks but are actually superior. What say Calguns?

My Hi Points shoot just as accurate and reliable as my Glocks. The down sides are that Hi Points are heavy, clunky and almost as ugly as Glocks. In all reality, both are great guns for what they are. Yes, in some ways Hi Points are superior to Glocks and in other ways, Glocks are superior to Hi Points. Neither is my first choice for a handgun but, I own and shoot both.

P.s. there is no bacon on purpose. Nobody gets bacon in a Hipoint thread.

            I second this.

Price could be one, but when you consider everything, that could be disputed.

One legitimate and obvious checkmark in the hipoint column is they won't rust. You know, zinc and all.

I've always wanted to shoot one, so I can see what I'm (not) missing.

This cheap gun can take a bullet on the chamber/slide, and still works!? Damn!

The first is super obvious, cost. The second one is their simplicity of design. There are less parts to fail on a Hi Point and, the fixed barrel design is arguably a better design for precision shooting. The third one is there warranty and customer service. Finally, Hi Points are really fun to use when out shooting someone who is shooting a +$2500 Gucci Glock or even a OEM Glock.

LOL. I've let several people shoot mine and, afterwards they have gone out and bought one or two just for fun.

You can keep them both. They do rank equally so much they don't even make my list.

Yeah but the real question is, do they blow apart as much as Glocks.

HiPoints are cheap (I bought two here in Texas from a guy at church for $175, a 9mm and a .40, each with three extra mags) and they work. OTOH, they are big and clunky and cumbersome and feel like they're made of cast pot metal. They look, feel and smell like they came from Harbor Freight. Worst triggers ever. But they work and are reasonably accurate.

The greatest advantage is when you run out of ammo. HiPoints make fearsome clubs.
