Once again that word is thrown around "smart". Yes the smart person will not just let ANYONE in there house, period but a LEO will gain a inch of trust plus people will fear they will get in trouble if they don't comply.

Is this going to happen? Prob not! Can it happen in Cali? ..... Sadly yes, especially in place like LA and SF.

You asked the question I gave the answer. They can also come and do health and welfare checks as well. Will they do that for compliance? Don't know but they can ask you. They go to ranges (Lyttle creek) and do it all the time, no warrants. Cali is so bold now they may just go door to door at this point.

those are typically not local cops, those are federal BLM agents, and it is one of the provisions for the range to operate on public land. This is why there are the warnings at the check in office and the ban of +10 magazines.

plus, your gun is in plain view. they can't go searching in your car or closed up gun bag, but if the gun is sitting on the bench in plain view, the LEO can and will inspect it for compliance.

I answered your question and gave examples of police using warrantless search twice over. What you choose to gloss over is up to you. Sure it can be FUD but Ive been to the range where the cops show up and start looking at mags and rifles. Wont be to far off to believe at order was given to search a few homes in that state. I actually hope its not FUD so people can see how far off the cliff Cali is going.

Ahh thank you. Hadnt thought of that but we did have some BLM ask to see mags that where in the bags as well.

They can go door to door all they want. You don’t have to open the door or let them in. If they can legally enter your house (because the have evidence that a crime is happening or a criminal is in your home), then they will kick down the door.

This is not accurate. Librarian provided a link to a case law allowing LEO to search bags, which are solely designed for guns.
