Years ago, I worked at a gun shop & I saw some employees helping a customer load a safe he just bought. The safe started tipping & fell on it's side while they were trying to get it into the customer's truck. The owner tried to convince the customer that it wasn't damaged & they would touch up the scratches.
How did the safes get on the floor in the store? How can a store expect someone to bring a crew with them to load the safe. Isn't there some sort of pallet lift they can load the safe into the back of a truck?

You do realize their employee offered the help, right?
If they had said initially that I needed to bring friends to help load it in my truck, can you guess what I would have done? I would've brought friends.

How much do you want to pay for the service?

Do you know how much a forklift costs?

You are one lost soul with reading comprehension fail. It's not about the safe. It's not about the weight of the safe. It's not about how fat or thin my wallet is.
It's about a persons word and a company's lack of customer service. i'm sorry you can't see that.

I guess I'll have to tell my transmission builder that he can't help me put those transmissions in the back of my truck now, too.

You're the lost soul friend, camouflaging your disappoint with the lie of "a persons word" or "customer service."

You failed, this is a problem of your ego.

This+100. The manager was right but his employees are idiots. Maybe the manager is an idiot too.

i'm waiting for the turner guy's response on this one. It seem employees there are NOT on the same page and both obviously doesn't know the Turner's policy on helping customer with safes until the Manager stepped in.

Yes, the two employees are wrong and made business decisions without consulting their store manager.

However, OP, yes the two employees were wrong but those are frontline/entry level employees, they were just trying to make the sale. You gonna get stuff like this from Chain and Big Box stores . . . all the time. Sure they wasted your time, but just move on. I've learned to go and verified by the Store Manager first on anything policy or pricing related when it comes to Turner's. Entry level employees are just that, go to the source to begin with.

                      EDIT:
It turns out the Store Manager ALSO did not know the policy as well. Not good. OP also posted on Turner's Vendor sub-forum and here is Turner's response:

                      Kevin,
I'm very sorry for the misunderstanding. Not sure where the miscommunication was but we dropped the ball and should have helped you load that safe. We do have guidelines for number of people to a safe depending on the weight, but that would at most mean waiting for two able bodied people to get free to load the safe. Not much I can say at this point besides we're sorry to have caused you this inconvenience and we have passed this along to all the necessary parties.

It seems there is more liability to Turners if some random guy is moving heavy safes in thier store. Than if thier employees (who are covered by their insurance) get hurt moving a safe.

If the wrong person finds out about Turners policy. They will purposely buy a safe, and pretend to get hurt moving it so they can sue Turners

Turners is stupid on so many levels...

I have bought a safe at Turners in Norwalk, they did help me load it into the truck. But that transaction didn't go too well either. I went to the store to pay for it and was told to go back in a week to pick it up .

After the week goes by, I called and was told 'yeah your safe arrived'. So I borrowed my brother's truck and everything looks good until the paperwork went to the manager for approval. The story suddenly changed and allegedly the safe was already reserved for somebody else. I went back one week later and they gave me the same boxed up safe that the manager reserved for somebody else. Wasted a lot of time and effort to save a few bucks.

Of all the hard-luck Turner's stories that have appeared hear on Calguns over the past 20 years, yours is one of the tamest and more mild annoyance of having to deal with pooh-flinging monkeys than actually being screwed over.
