    They get my vote aswell!

Buddy and I were in there about a year ago shopping for him a safe. We molested damn near every safe, asked a million questions, looked and asked some more. And they were MORE then willing to spend the time with us. Even offered us some bottles of water because we had been there so long.

Finally my buddy made his choice, they wrote it up, worked out the details on delivery and bam... Done deal. Even were helpful with the extra shelf he wanted.

Yep, I sure did. I've had a long year and this didn't help at all on my day off after I had arranged things around this purchase.
I also sent a letter to corporate referencing both of the threads here. Which explains why I got a very reasonable response from them that addressed me by name.

If i was There, I would have helped you load it.
That one only weighs around 300lbs.

There has to be some sort of store policy.
When I was working we had a 65lb max. UPS and FED EX also has a weight limit.

Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.

I completely get that. Someone above mentioned the workman's comp thing, too. I get that also. It really wouldn't had been a deal if they had said I was on my own last weekend or if they were on top of it today. I'm not even all jumping around angry about it. I am just unhappy about my day getting trashed by this.

Truth be told, they did me a favor and I found a bigger Winchester safe for less, and that includes tax and cheaper shipping to my garage door.

            Well THERE'S you're problem!

Turners is what it is. I have no earthly idea why that place is so popular. Maybe it's so cheap that most people don't care. I say, my time and sanity are worth any price I have to pay to never set foot in that place.

Consider this a blessing. You'll be happier in the long run.

Well, that helped make up for your aggravation slightly.

I used to go to tuners a lot when I had no training.

Once I got formal training, I realized a lot of the info turners employees shared with me was bogus and showed that the sales guys really didn't know what they were talking about.

Now, I did try to give them a chance a few years back but it was worse than before....but with more people there and a number system.

I think turners could do a lot better if they would hire better sales folks but I'm sure turners module of hiring low pay folks has worked for them so....I get it. I just choose to go else where.

Is Turners the Southern California version of Sportsman’s Warehouse?

LOL, that depends. Is Sportsman's Warehouse the Northern California version of Turner's Outdoorsman?

                    I honestly can't answer that. I haven't been to a Sportsman's Warehouse.

But both sound like they have terrible service and marginal employees.

Yes but sometimes the best prices.

Ildr; isn't a complaint. If you write a long post, it's nice to put a 1 or 2 line summary at the bottom for people that don't feel up to reading all of it. So you write tldr; then a quick summary.

                            Tldr;
A Turner's salesman said they would help load a safe or deliver for free but the manager said no help and wanted to charge for delivery. I I'm not going back.

I've also dealt with that same douche in Fountain Valley. Hard to believe he's the manager. I did a ppt there with a seller that lived 40 miles away. He would not start the dros because we didn't have a magazine. He would not allow me to bring a mag when I picked it up. No need for a safe handling demo as I'm exempt. Luckily, it was a 1911 and they had a semi reasonably priced mag there for sale.
I've had good luck at Turners in Norwalk more than once. Not so FV or Signal Hill.
Rifle gear is my first choice, then Ammo Bros. But Turners does have some good sales.
