Done a lot of business with O.C. Armory during the SSE heyday, when Patrick was still there. Sad to hear that business is down, but that's what CA legislators want - push everyone to the fringe.

Imagine if we had normal gun laws, with full selection of handguns and rifles, ammo and reloading supplies. It would be like any other business...

Sorry to hear. A bit of a trek for me, but will certainly keep this in mind if I am out that way

i'm not saying for the shop to order ammo without a customer.

but to allow a customer to custom order ammo that is not in stock on shelf.

Business is probably slow because of the laws and everyone basically sells the same things. Every time I shop in Vegas I see more variety and accessories. Every place in California I went to was the same.

Nice, knowledgeable guys, but they never had much inventory whenever I went in.

Sorry but this is Cali doing. No new guns, ammo laws and hate towards gun stores and ranges. This was bound to happen.

Unfortunately, this is the reality of being an FFL in CA. I've tossed around the idea myself and the numbers don't add up unless I do lot of tinkering with what I sell and how I sell it. Inevitably the conclusion is that I have to also do out of state sales (online mainly) to make any real profit. You throw in CA sales tax and it's almost impossible to compete on price in CA. The margin isn't there unless you're a high volume dealer who can afford to keep large inventories.

Mike has always been on the cutting edge of understanding of CA laws and willing to transfer most anything we send to him. He has taken more than his share of abuse from CALDOJ in the number of recurring inspections and scrutiny he had to endure. I hope he can survive.
