Do we think the Bay Area, SoCal, Central Coast, and Norcal, and all the big cities and movers and shakers are going to stop their anti-2A stances? Western Civilization, sadly, has been on a complete confiscation and disarm agenda for decades now. Europe and Australia, Canada, and the rest are disarming and weakening their people at the speed of light. California worships Europe and dreams of a day we're all 100% disarmed and have to apply for special permits just to buy a bolt action .22.

I don't see this state returning to sanity. I plan on another 12-13 years till I retire and get my state pension. Then I'm outta here....

Do you guys see another way? Writing to our liberal congressmen and governor, etc. is a joke. Unless Trump can stack some more seats in the court, I think we're screwed there in the near future as well.
Same here. Retiring in 20yrs and getting out as soon as possible. Sadly CA is just the prototype of what the rest of the country will be turned into. It does not look good.

My wife and I are leaving (hopefully before the end of the year, we are putting in an offer on a house as we speak) CA along with our best friends, close family, and jobs. Luckily, I can retain a decent portion of my business, but my wife will have to find another job (and she will 100%). We will have some family and friends in our new home, but obviously not like the network we have built up here for decades.

But this is the price we are willing to pay to stop the madness in our lives that is called California. Once we realized that we can just walk away from the insanity, it became liberating. Just takes a little bit of courage and willingness to change a lifestyle and to face a whole new adventure.

No offense but Ca is not the "front lines" its more the butthole in the 2nd amendment fight.
The front lines are the states that repeal these laws, that unite and fight.
Not that purposely line up early to register and threaten to turn one another in.

Just because people here think they are doing something doesn't mean they are.
You are outnumbered, out flanked, and have zero unity. California has fallen and there is no turning back.
Gun owners are Jews in the Warsaw ghetto. You think its getting better with every new law they pass.
The only safe option is to get away.

So move. Like the rest of us.

Yep. What has really been accomplished by any of the numerous lawsuits? Nothing ever changes.

I was born here, I remember the before times in the long long ago.
It's all the liberal DOPES moving here that has been sinking the constitutional ship. I've seen the population grow too fast and one party rule win the day from them. I keep fighting, but when retirement can come sooner and measurably far better for a multitude of reasons beyond firearms I may be fighting from another state in a decade. It's not just the infringements, it's the cost of homes, gas, insurance, size of houses, land around houses, traffic nightmares, lack of shared values. That being all said, I very much want to stay, so I'm in this fight in the land of my birth.

I hope I've never discouraged you guys from fighting a good fight. I will continue to contribute to the CRPA and the NRA. A lot of truth in what has been said above.

In the end, though, I still have to do what is best for me in my eventual retirement. Cost of living in CA is becoming exorbitant, from property taxes to fuel prices, to the specter of ever increasing income taxes. With the runaway liberal train in CA politics, it is unrealistic to expect stable costs of living, especially when you're on a fixed income. Maybe my views are extreme, but as the state turns more and more toward Socialism, those who have earned well during their productive years will surely become the cash cow.

PS: notice I never mentioned about gun rights. All that stuff is just fluff, until it comes to defending against tyranny.

We were in a good place financially to exfiltrate. It had been planned for years, even before Ca and its gun laws really went off the rails. I stick around on CG to keep my finger on the pulse of what's happening in Ca, support the fight financially and with occasional emails, and also just like talking guns with a bunch of people I've interacted with here over the years. In no way are any of my posts ever meant to brag, poke fun at, or talk down to my friends here that are still stuck, either by choice or circumstances. Moving to a new state can be a stressful pia. Especially if you have kids, extended family, properties etc etc. We had all that, and still did it. It wasn't easy logistically, but it was the best investment in ourselves we could have ever made.

Our way of thinking and lifestyle isn't thought highly of in Ca, at least in major metro areas. Now, even living in a small metro-ish area, we are SURROUNDED by like minded, like believing, like thinking people. Everyone I meet is super friendly, respectful, polite, very conservative, gun owning and carrying people. Got my concealed weapon license in 6 days total through the DMV. Very friendly helpful person with a dedicated line to process the simple one page form. You don't even need a license to cc here, it's constitutional carry, but there are benefits to having one.

For us it was a tactical retreat. Stay in Ca and be mentally miserable, while they continue to reach into my pocket for more and more money, all while criminalizing my activities, interests and rights. Or, move to a place where I will add to the conservative stronghold, shoring it up even higher to prevent what happened in Ca from happening here. Ca didn't want me and my ways. That's fine, we left. I'm retired now, happier than ever. Everything, and I mean everything, is cheaper. Sometimes by an order of magnitude. If you feel like a lost soul sometimes surrounded by stupidity in Ca. know that your not alone, just severely outnumbered. Self sort, find your people, join them, enjoy what's left of your life instead of being miserable.

I can see how weaker people would just want to escape it all. That's what separates the men from the boys after all. The funny part is how they stay on CALguns and constantly tell others how right they are.

I love when people give me crap about where I live. You know what though? If any of you are ever in Berkeley, you'll know that you have at least one friend here. I'll give up this house and my guns when I die, not a second before that.

Enjoy wonderland. You'll likely spread that bit of California that rubbed off on you while you were here and ruin that too.
