    Benelli m4 or scar 17

Help me decide between benelli m4 or scar 17. I have an old Winchester pump and and aero precision m5. Comes down to which ones more fun at the range. I know this is personal preference but just curious what others think if they have had experience with either.

***scar 17 would have to be featureless

Benelli M4s are very much fun to shoot. And it's very easy to take off that 5-shell tube and put a 7-shell tube on it. Also, they're not just for blasting the center out of a paper target, I've shot skeet and trap with mine and did respectably well.

Shotguns suck, and the scar sucks too. I say LMT MWS or KAC SR25 over both

The M4 does not register on the scale of suck. It's super fun and very reliable.

Yeah, nothing screams fun like a 10 lb 5 round shotgun with a stupid long length of pull and retardedly expensive aftermarket parts....

Ah yes, the typical assumption. Tell me, what does a shotgun do that an AR cant do better?

Nine .30 caliber pellets with a single pull of the trigger.

Solve close range problems with either man or beast, **** up cars, shoot clays, be naturally CA legal and less scary to non gun owners...

Spending the kind of money you would have to on a SCAR 17, only to put a stupid fin on it, doesn't seem very appealing to me. We don't shoot our SCAR 17 very much, I think because of the cost of ammunition (we love our SCAR 16 and it gets shot all the time). Slugs for the Benelli M4 cost the same as 7.62mm for the SCAR 17, but you would shoot a lot fewer of them.

I love shooting my slug guns! I have a few .30 cal as well, but ther ain't no .30 cal that puts the wow on a target like a well placed slug.

Depends on where you buy the Scar. They are your typical high end rifle like POF. Under $3000 in free states in both new and used form. My current AR pistol is $3500+. So the Scar may be expensive for some and not others.

You kill what the Scar was designed to do by putting on an ugly fin. There is zero fun factor if anyone does that. That's just me though.

OP I would go with the Scar with no fin and in a free state version so you have the shorter overall length. Folks need to buy the Scar for what it is, not butchered or altered in any way.

It's hard to hit birds in flight with a SCAR. It's also hard to hit anything past 200 yards with an M4.

Once you decide on what you're going to shoot the choice should be simple.
