Empty threats, the s-head couldn't even afford one hour of a decent lawyer's time, which is about how long it would take the lawyer to stop laughing.

This guy is a piece of chit. Doubtful that he follows through on the 30th. And if he doesn't, don't let up and fall for his defamation claims.

Keep us posted. If this asshat flakes on you we should all start messaging him and his family.

Only thing missing from his response was a statement about a family member being a LEO

Keep on his ***. Proof that payment was send on the 30th, if not then emails and messages go out to those family members again.

I'm curious, did you actually provide your address to him? I would be a bit uneasy about doing so but I also don't see how else you would get your deposit back (maybe paypal?)

Since he is so worried about his reputation, you could tell him that, after you receive your money, you would re-contact people and tell them the situation was satisfactorily resolved. that might give him incentive to come through with your money. Of course, only re-contact after you have your money. If you are feeling really magnanimous, you could offer to tell people it was due to miscommunication/misunderstanding but everything has been worked out. Take the high road.

I don't think he is really worried about his reputation. He is simply surprised that his actions had negative consequences, when most of the time they don't.

People who are extremely concerned about their reputations tend to protect them carefully. This asshat did not.

While going through and FFL for private party transactions is a PIA. they are effectively escrow agents. The cost of the transfer fee and DROS are inconsequential when buying an expensive firearm. Until then, its cash and carry.

I agree that he probably is not that concerned about his reputation. I was just hoping that the OP could use seller's claimed concern for his reputation as more leverage to get his money back.

It's obvious the Perp has no money at all. Zero.

If he has a history of it, it should be fraud and a crime.
