No. Combat helmets generally protect against shrapnel and explosives.

If hit in a helmet with a bullet you are generally out of the fight. It can save your life, but unless you have a fire team and a medic to save your skin there isn't much point.

^ Absolutely RedFord150, you could go that route, especially if you're SHTF plan included any bicycles but you wouldn't get the fullface protection Nor would it be California legal if you needed to borrow or had a motorcycle. having a motorcycle helmet while riding a bike just makes you look Mr. super safety.
And some skateboard helmets LOOK exactly like swat gear helmets. And that's something I don't want to look like If I'm trying to be the gray man.


Most importantly, if you read my input from above, bicycle helmets are not "redhead" rated!

yes, and you should practice wearing it, every day, in public

here's a guy that likes to wear his helmets on public forums, he's well prepared for any type of SHTF scenario

with all the recent mass shootings and terrorist attacks going on these days you cant be too careful, it might save your life someday.
