Turners is usually really bad about it and especially if there are people waiting to buy their guns youre gonna wait even longer.

The stockade was actually a pretty nice experience. they weren't the friendliest bunch, but they knew what they were doing and got me in and out in a couple of minutes

      "Oh great, yay (sarcasm)"
      Then they tell each other:
"We make no money on ppts"
Then as the guy goes to grab something another guy asks if I'm being helped, then the other guy says "ppt". Then the other guy says, "ok, not really helping you , just doing paperwork".
This last time wasn't as bad as the previous when the Spanish guy said the system was down and took over an hour to do a ppt. If they weren't always *****ing about it, I might buy some ammo , and I've bought guns there before.

Guns direct in burbank on the other hand, never complain, get you in and out asap, which is why I always buy something from them, even though I may not really need it. I even stopped buying guns from oak tree, for this very reason and just meet there for ppts and set aside extra time.

      Anyone else experience this?
I've done 2 PPTs at Oak Tree and your experience mirrors mine almost exactly. They were bi***ing and moaning amongst eachother the entire time. As if I should feel bad that the law requires me to do it. As if I have a choice in the matter.

You'd think they'd try to win you over with kindness so that you'd make a purchase or two while you're there. But nope.

They just shot themselves in the foot both times. I will never buy anything there unless this changes.

Guns Direct, in the meantime, are AWESOME. They never complain. They just get you in and out in about 15 mins. I ALWAYS buy something as a thank you - ammo, cleaning supplies, something... I've also purchased several guns from them due to their good service and friendly staff.

Funny how Guns Direct is just a stone throw away from Gun World - the worst LGS I've ever been to - worse than Oak Tree.
      iTrader: 52 transactions, 100% positive.

LOL, you tip for bad service?

I think you may be doing it wrong.

I'm supposed to tip someone that's *****ing about doing their job?

Yeah, they must think I'm happy to have had to spend thousands of dollars on ppt fees over the years.

Next time, look around and load up on things you may need, walk over to the counter put the stuff down on the counter. And when the guy comes over to check you out tell them by the way I'm also here for a PPT. When he starts B****ing about it tell him, with that attitude I'll buy somewhere else. Turn around and leave the stuff on the counter for him to put away...

I get the same trouble trying to do an internet FFL item transfer. Many gun stores act like they're doing you a YUGE favour, even though they're charging me a hefty FFL fee. I'm like dude, I'm not buying a gun directly from you, but you're still making some money, and this is part of your business.

When a FFL doesn't provide me with good service for my PPT's, I don't shop there for my guns, period. I go to some one who helps me with no issues, then I repay them by giving them large portions of my pay checks several times a year.

Store owners should encourage their employees to do PPTs. It's free advertisement. Not sure how many random gun shops I've visited to do transfers. How much money in advertising would they have had to spend in order to get me in the door otherwise. Instead, all they leave are bad impressions and a lot of negative feedback on forums just like this. I've never been to Oak Tree, and now have ZERO desire to ever go there.

I have done no less than five PPTs at Oak Tree and never seen that attitude. I also have never had an issue with Gun World or Martin Retting.
