Preventable Tragedy

Every "preventable" tragedy is "preventable" in hindsight.

You weigh the pros and cons, and go from there. SO, what's the point of the OP? A PSA for those that think it won't happen to them? As a " remember there are laws, dummies"! Or a call for more overlord protection?

A kid here in Simi got killed when his friends, during "horseplay", pushed him into traffic. Ban horseplay now?

As the comment well above, the state should wrap all of us in bubblewrap, never to see the light of day?

And WTF with the "justice for the victims"? I know, it's for the chillins...

Don't you think daddy's been punished enough having to live with this? Or do you think that another law will discourage future behavior?

Laws don't prevent crime, they punish after the fact...

Using rare, freak accidents to prove your point indicates sheer desperation on your part. It's like saying "It is perfectly safe to jump out of a plane without a parachute because I read about this guy who did it & survived."

if one assumes that 130 to 150 children wide will die, based on the current numbers to date, then those also fall under the heading of "rare and freak" accidents as well. You're using the same tactics to prove your point but bust on other when they do likewise. Cant have it both ways. Sorry, both example qualify as rare and tragic and yet don't warrant more silly and useless laws that can't possibly be enforced.
