I find the criticism of the other party to be in poor taste, but to get to the root of the issue, if this happened in a shooting range, with range officers and other people, not an issue, within reason.
IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FRIKKING DESERT! ALONE! VS. 5 UNKNOWNS WITH GUNS! IN POSESSION OF 5-10,000 BUCKS WORTH OF RIFLES! GTFOH! You better be packin a side arm and a backup before you even consider handing a highpowered rifle to a group of drunk 20 somethin john does. Seriously, alone, I would have a 1 mile no fly zone. WHAT A ****ING BAD DECISION.

Don't forget the posts of his he deleted either.
Look if the OP is not comfortable letting others shoot his guns. Thats fine they are his but all the other stuff about their cheap guns and only guys with rich parents can afford $5,000 guns is just silly.
Never met the OP and he may well be a great guy who expresses himself poorly in writing. So OP, have fun at the range and enjoy what you do.Last edited by cannon; 05-12-2016, 7:08 PM.^^ Said by some lunatic on the internetComment

In general, I wait for someone to offer to shoot their firearms.
In this case if I didn't know the people and they were drinking I would politely decline.Comment

I am jaded because I have had some very bad experiences in my life. I have learned to trust my gut feelings because every time something bad has happened has been a time I ignored my gut feeling.
What your picture suggests is this is not a controlled range that has RSOs. It looks like some spot in the desert that people tend to shoot at and leave their garbage behind. So, if you are alone and things go south, you are on your own.
The first clue is the beer, I would politely decline and just say I am not comfortable. You said you had not even sighted the rifle in. Perfect excuse. Or say you are not comfortable mixing shooting and alcohol and pack up and leave while watching your back. Or geez, you forgot something you need and have to go back to town.
Now, I am an introvert and I am not big on just letting random people shoot my guns. Where I shoot, the RSOs know me well enough and will send newbies my way to shoot some of my guns because I have no problem helping the newbies. I always bring along a couple of extra .22s and have no problem letting the newbies borrow them, especially when the person who brought them to the range thought a first introduction to shooting should be a .30-06 hunting rifle or a .357 magnum pistol.
If I am out shooting in the middle of nowhere and a random person asks, forget it, I drove to an isolated place in the forest to get away from people and several miles required 4WD so I could further reduce the number of people that can get there.
Ultimately, you will not shoot my gun unless I somehow know you or I know the person who introduces you to me, and you pass my gut feeling test.
The one gun that has a special meaning to me because it has saved my life 3 times in my younger years, only my son or I shoot. It is a very common firearm, but I will keep it until I die, then it goes to my son.Anyone can look around and see the damage to the state and country inflicted by bad politicians.
A vote is clearly much more dangerous than a gun.
Why advocate restrictions on one right (voting) without comparable restrictions on another (self defense) (or, why not say 'Be a U.S. citizen' as the requirement for CCW)?

You poor poor wittle thing, are your feels getting hurt now? Probably how you made those guys feel by acting all high and mighty with your DD e o thingy and highly highly modified CZ....Originally posted by sw686ssrI got to the range before my friends show up. Anyways, there's a lot of comments on the attacking end. I didn't attack anyone. I said I felt uncomfortable about letting strangers shoot my guns while not returning the equal favor. Especially since there were five of them. I am badly outnumbered here with people commenting negatively. If u have nothing positive to say please don't post.

what happened to your property, your rules?
OP may have made some poor remarks and comments to cast him in a negative light but its still ultimately his property and his decision.
No gun owner should be required to let others handle or shoot their guns.Comment
