I let people shoot my guns. Not a lot of ammo granted but a magazine for sure. I've had people say "hey you want to shoot it" and of course being into firearms I say yes. I offer up my guns as well. It's all about give and take. If someone is on the fence about a particular model or frame being able to shoot one is awesome.

I would politely decline to even let someone I don't know hold my guns. But I am somewhat anti social when it comes to unknown people and I go to the range to shoot not socialize.

I may let them shoot my firearms but maybe a couple or few rounds because the bigger the ammo, the more expensive. If it's one person, I'd probably let them shoot one mag but limit the rounds if multiple people. It does sound annoying to have 5 people.

I would let them shoot them, like about poster said, 10 rnds or so. Declining only because they have "cheap" guns is a bad way of justifying whether or not they can try my AR or LR308 or whatever i'm shooting. They way i see it, if they have never shot an AR and by me persuading them in purchasing one, well thats one more person that will purchase an AR, therefore pissing off a liberal. Win-Win.

In fact...I have a whole set of rimfires that serve no purpose but to let random other people shoot them. Take that.

I always have RAW's or very unusual historical guns (i.e VERY expensive) guns at the range, and I ALWAYS welcome others to shoot them. As collectors and shooters, I feel it is our responsibility to share our sport and our passion with others.

take this however you want, but you sound like a snob..

I've let probably a hundred people, maybe more, shoot my m82a1 at ~$9k invested..

don't even sweat a couple of $5 rounds if it ends up being just a few..

fortunately, I've had to turn away more offers for ammo expenses than I've had to ask for..
I started out with nothing - and I still have most of it

I used to be reluctant about it. But I have been the recipient of too many other people's generosity to deny the same thing to someone in earnest.

im the exact same way. i try to get people involved so that the sport can grow. if all they had was a pistol and 22 rifle, i would most certainly let them check out my AR.

It depends on the person and the circumstances and the "gut feeling" I get. Sometimes it's a yay, sometimes it's a nay. YMMV

I always let someone shot if they are interested. I once got an anti gun gal to shot my lil purse gun when she came out to yell at me about the noise she can here 2 miles away. She had to rethink her stereotype of gun owners after that encounter.
