Welding helmet and sub zero temperature when using Acetone Peroxide. JK Hoppes I just leave a window open.

But I have moved to Dawn for aluminum and Simple green for steel. The last two I can do in the house obviously.

Yep, the contact high is half the fun. Once I started shooting I gave up sniffing glue.

Seriously though, Mpro 7 in a windowless garage. Whether the door is open depends on how cold it is outside.

As much precaution as it takes to fill a glass full of burboun without spilling any.

I clean my firearms like they were brown recluse spiders. Use a flame thrower on the stripped frame, then ballistol the crud out of it when im done.

Simple Green is non-toxic and is a fantastic degreaser.
It does not attack plastics... it is basically similar to Dawn but a bit more potent.

But I don't think it would do anything for copper or lead. It is a water-based cleaner and relatively Ph neutral.

                    Not far from the truth.

Used to tip some gas out of the 5gal can for the lawnmower to clean the grease off of my hands and arms after working on the car, then a scrub with Comet to remove the gas.

I'm fortunate enough to have a large property & I have several outside choices. And I use Nitrile Gloves that have to be changed after using Gun Scrubber.

I clean in the garage with the side door open a little during the winter and wide open in the summer. Yes, I use hoppes.

I wear gloves, use eye protection, and ventilate the area. A N95 mask won't do anything to protect you from the fumes, so don't bother. The eye protection keeps the springs out of your eyes. You could step up to a respirator with the right cartridges, but you still need to ventilate. Respirators are more effective with lower ambient chemical concentrations.
