In the garage with the door open. I hung a blind that covers the view to my work bench so no neighbors can not see what I am doing. I have a father/son across the street that are nosy and lots of walkers and bicycle riders on my street.
I always wear nitrile gloves when tinkering or cleaning.Last edited by Glocked@45; 01-25-2016, 7:09 PM.Comment

lets not overthink thisRule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED
Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)
Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET
Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

You might need to switch cleaning products if this is a problem your over thinking."The most important rule in a gunfight is: Always win and cheat if necessary."Comment

Watch out for the ammonia laced cleaners. They give me terrible headaches.
MPro makes some cleaners that work OK and have ZERO odor.Comment

Avoid ammonia-containing cleaners if you have plated guns.
The ammonia will take away the copper undercoat, then the peeling begins.Originally posted by Kestryll:

The women at work kept telling me they liked my new cologne. Of course, wanting to keep getting the attention, I checked the cologne label and realized I'd been using Hoppes by accident...apparently, getting dressed in the dark while my wife was on vacation lead to this absented minded use.

What I do is *hit can nasty chemicals and use products like mpro 7 and weapon shield solvent. Both are excellent cleaners and have little stink.
Weapon shield solvent is one of the best cleaners I have ever used.Comment

Hoppes was my cologne. But the original recipe, not the watered down sissy stuff they sell now.
Had to switch to Ballistol."Did I say "republic?" By God, yes, I said "republic!" Long live the glorious republic of the United States of America. Damn democracy. It is a fraudulent term used, often by ignorant persons but no less often by intellectual fakers, to describe an infamous mixture of socialism, miscegenation, graft, confiscation of property and denial of personal rights to individuals whose virtuous principles make them offensive." - Westbrook PeglerComment
