Correct range Etiquette?

Only on CGN. It can be annoying but I suck it up. Worse is an an outdoor range and someone is shooting very large chamberings next to you.

Worse than this is shooting at the local indoor range which allows even rifle calibers. Last time I was there the guy next to me had a .308 AR with a muzzle break.I wanted to shove that AR where the sun don't shine Cus every time he fired it was like getting hit in the head with a rubber mallet. Not to mention the guy had a ridiculous scope, massive bipod, AND grip pod. And did I mention this is a 25 yard range? Just one of those moments where I would have liked to be able to put the guys gun down on the range and use it as a target. Just why?

I've embraced and I love loud noises. Its just slightly annoying when I'm trying to work on accuracy and I get slapped in the face with brass every couple seconds. But switching stations is a good idea. I ended up waiting for 5 minutes then he left so I was able to shoot in peace

Learn to block it out. You'll be able to handle stress better if you ever have to defend yourself.

I tell him if he could move back a bit and he obliges but his brass keeps hitting me. Would it have been OK to ask him to take turns shooting or something?

You could have turned it into an opportunity. Use such disturbances as training yourself to focus on shooting while tuning out anything that isn't life-threatening. I mean really...if you can't ignore brass dinking you while shooting, how's it going to play out if you have to go all in during a fight for your life, and there's suddenly many more, potentially lethal distractions?

Man up and take it. Consider it "stress testing" as you learn to ignore distractions and stay focused on the objective at hand.

In the Marines I once had a casing go down my sleeve and rest against my elbow as I started firing my second mag on the 300 Rapid (shooting lefty so was facing the wrong way). That booger hurt like heck but I got all 5 rounds off before reacting and kept them in the black.

My local indoor range allows rifles including .308. They have special designated lanes for them.

I take my rifles there mostly because I do functionality testing of various equipment. I build my own rifles and take them there to test them before I go out to farther places and shoot them at longer distances as they were designed to do.

I totally understand your viewpoint, they can be loud, especially AR Pistols. I once had a girl literally run out of the range with her hands on her earmuffs because she couldn't stand it.

If you ever come across guys with loud rifles, just ask the staff to move you over to lanes that are further away. Firearms are loud.

a cap will solve all your issues. i smirk when i get hit by brass that reflects multiple times off the stall before hitting me in the head. sometimes i get ejection envious

This is why people - both male and female - need to dress appropriately to go shooting. Despite what some ads and movies may depict, bikinis or low cut tops are not a good idea when shooting.
