Correct range Etiquette?

Well yesterday I was at my range and it was packed as in every single station was taken. So I start shooting but the guy on my left is shooting a 1911 and no matter how I adjust myself his brass keeps hitting me. I tell him if he could move back a bit and he obliges but his brass keeps hitting me. Would it have been OK to ask him to take turns shooting or something?

This is a perfect excuse to hit up the local surplus store and get yourself one of these - best in shiny chrome so that you can blind/ward off any others from being near you as well

Not words that go together! There is nothing peaceful about shooting.

That's not true at all. I really enjoy shooting for the relaxing and almost meditation like aspect of it. Especially precision rifle shooting. Running and gunning is obviously different. But focusing on precision shooting is a whole other ball game.
