Well yesterday I was at my range and it was packed as in every single station was taken. So I start shooting but the guy on my left is shooting a 1911 and no matter how I adjust myself his brass keeps hitting me. I tell him if he could move back a bit and he obliges but his brass keeps hitting me. Would it have been OK to ask him to take turns shooting or something?

Correct range Etiquette?

DUPE!
In summary, get a hat and some vagisil! -
Why not ask if you two could switch lanes. If you do ask to switch, make certain you're not also shooting an auto loader.Originally posted by tony270It's easy to be a keyboard warrior, you would melt like wax in front of me, you wouldn't be able to move your lips.Originally posted by repubconservPrint it out and frame it for all I careOriginally posted by el chivoI don't need to think at all..XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOriginally posted by pjsigYou are talking to someone who already won this lame conversation, not a brick a wall. Find a better range that has decent dividers between the stalls.Comment

Yeah, I was going to post "...or you could learn to associate loud noises and hot brass with the hobby you've chosen and embrace it" but I decided to bite my tongue.Originally posted by tony270It's easy to be a keyboard warrior, you would melt like wax in front of me, you wouldn't be able to move your lips.Originally posted by repubconservPrint it out and frame it for all I careOriginally posted by el chivoI don't need to think at all..XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOriginally posted by pjsigYou are talking to someone who already won this lame conversation, not a brick a wall. Someone politely asking me if I can step forward or back a little to change where brass is going, fine. Someone putting up a barrier to stop brass, fine. Asking me to switch lanes maybe but if you're already to my right being hit by brass, what happens when the person to my left sends their brass to the right? Someone asking me to take turns shooting so I have to wait till they're done because they don't want to get hit by brass... no. It's a range, brass goes flying. If you're such a delicate little flower, leave.
Now if it's a little kid next to me I might change something about how or what I'm shooting so I don't bother them with brass or a brake, but an adult? Put up with it like everyone else at the range.Comment

I've embraced and I love loud noises. Its just slightly annoying when I'm trying to work on accuracy and I get slapped in the face with brass every couple seconds. But switching stations is a good idea. I ended up waiting for 5 minutes then he left so I was able to shoot in peaceWise men seldom speak. - ArcusComment

Not words that go together! There is nothing peaceful about shooting.
I got a chance to shoot outdoors on a friends property. What a revelation! Shooting indoors at the range is fine if you have something you want to work on, but for fun, outdoors with cans and bottles, a couple steel targets, is hard to beat!Comment
