I think OP should be compensated with the business license and ownership of the shop, full gun inventory and workers. And 500 rounds of ammo!!

      Nothing less!

Maybe a reach around if your negotiating skills are good enough to pull that off

I was so embarrassed after this guy came back the 3rd time saying your card was declined. I'm thinking like 500 rounds is fair.
Just out of curiosity, how old are you?? Because you whine more than my cousin, and she just turned 5. Go get your damn rifle, take whatever discount they give you, and leave. If it was my shop, you would be getting an "I'm sorry" phone call. Not a discount

Let me take a wild guess, was this at RifleGear in Fontain Valley?
Depending on the type of rifle and what is involved a shop might be justified in charging that much.

Buy it, take what they give you then burn them to the ground.

The OP was shopping at RifleGear and purchasing a PS90. He ordered the Non-CA version online, so we needed to collect additional funds for the CA compliance parts when he came into the store. We did just switch to a new accounting system and have been having more problems with inventory and processing credit cards than normal. We received a "Declined" response from our processor on all three cards when attempting the charge, but upon further investigation the next day our processor said they did have an authorization for all three. So we apologized for the inconvenience and offered to make it up to him with a discount, free ammo, or covering the transfer fee to a dealer closer to him. The OP said he would have to call us back, so we are waiting on him at this point.

I think the OP should quit whining and take the discount or free ammo. It's not the shops fault he lives two hours away. Why should compensation be more based on the customers proximity to the shop? Should another customer that lives closer be offered less compensation? Mistakes happen, and as others have said, I'm sure your bank caused the problem. The smart move when making a large purchase is to contact your bank ahead of time and inform them of your intention to make a large purchase on your card. They will temporarily increase daily spending limits.
Life happens, consider yourself lucky to recieve any compensation. Especially considering whatever the gun is, it's sounds rare and as such would probably be easy to find another buyer.

When I told them what it was, they said they couldn't do the transfer. I'm stuck with this store. I have busted 3 guys on Armslist that were scams. I have tried to get out of state stores to make the Cali mods and then transfer. No results. I was lucky to find this store, and then this happens
Edit: I hadn't read the response from Riflegear. My personal attack was not warranted.

You should get a hold of CalGuns very own AudioPhil2.
He's an Az ffl who specializes in getting us Californians legal stuff that other ffls won't do. He's a middle man too, and I believe he'll take care of you if you get that rifle shipped to him from some other state; he can install the Ca stuff and block the mags.
