More hysterical and newsworthy when you put it that way, sells more papers, generates more NRA contributions.

Which I have yet to ever come across. In fact, the MARADMIN that directs what ammo, weapons and accessories are to be used for qualification specifically states that only M855 Ball is authorized for use in the M16.

I think all you folks read an article somewhere about a DoD study and took it high and to the right assuming it was already being sent to the entire military. We shoot green tip folks.

Btw, it's intended to yaw. That way when it impacts tissue it tumbles and blows out the back of the body causing massive tissue damage. The only time it's ineffective is when you shoot a hadji that A) is hopped up on so many opiates that I wouldn't feel his legs being blown off and B) his buddy doesn't stop to provide medical attention to his fallen comrade.

When that happens - two to the chest, one to the head.
Dear ISIS, Texas is not known for their gun free zones.

Rush is right a lot more often than anyone in the lamestream media.

But he doesn't know everything and does make mistakes.
When he is corrected, he tells his audience.

          Or did I miss something?
Yeah that's the sad part the ATF was just talking about 5.56 M855 being banned and is still taking comments until March 16th. I visited a couple stores the past few days there's plenty of 77 grain .223, varmint tipped .223, the cheap fmj is what's gone. There was a store that had 55 grain M193 and a 5 box limit, the store clerk told me most of the craziness was this week. There was a girl who came in reading from a note asking the clerk "do you have any .223 cases?" while I was waiting for my friend to buy a pistol.

That's what they said, yes. But then they had nothing at all to say about M955 which really is AP.

Rush is usually right if you are checking on the going price for Oxy.
Typical redneck and a disgrace for the party he associates himself with.

Rush is probably right, at least partially.

By the way, all "news" is entertainment. Don't fool yourself.

I didn't mean to suggest that the new round was in wide deployment, just that the m855 is intended to be replaced with the m855a1. It looks the only ones that have really played with it are the Army Marksmanship Unit. I'll ask them when I see them at the MultiGun nationals next month.
Spanning a decade-and-a-half, the process of adopting the lead-free 5.56x45 mm NATO M855A1 ball cartridge was hardly transparent. In the end, however, testing indicates that our troops ended up with a better combat round.

Sounds good to me. It just really irritates me when people walk around spreading stuff along those lines who aren't in the military. I was talking with a guy at Turners (clearly NOT military but happy to wear some old BDUs) who kept insisting that the entire military had just been issued M9A3s

Sorry if I came across a little strong.

Yahoo news feeds are releases from the wire services, like AP. If you can suggest a better source for news, I am all ears.

                                Rush Limbaugh is an entertainer.

All I'm saying is I try to get my news from the news, not from radio personalities.
