    Is Rush right?

What do you think the government buying up as much ammo as they could in the retail markets was all about?
Remember when we where all "up in arms" about the gov buying all that green tip and people said ? Are we more fool for not believing them now?
The liberal see's the glass as half full and tries to take more.
The conservative see's glass as half empty and tries to keep it that way.

I'm sure even Alex Jones is right about something from time to time. The problem with people like him and Rush though is that they cry wolf so often (and in such extreme, grandiose ways), that they might as well not say anything at all.

There was plenty of ammo in the stores two weeks ago. The flippers bought it all up and jacked the prices. The people panicking are buying up regular 55 grain .223 and 5.56 now. I don't think it's the Feds buying it up now that are clearing the shelves

I think we need a lot more information.

For example, the huge DHS contract for .40 cal ammo was an IDIQ contract. That means indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity. It was for up to 1 billion (or whatever the number was) rounds. They may order all of it, they may order none of it.

So how much did they actually buy?, or will they buy over the remainder of the contract?

As to the M855, it has been obsolete for a few years now, having been replaced by M855A1. Why would they order more M855?

Would they like 855 to be banned so that they don't end up having to sell it off to the public as surplus? That is quite likely, IMO.

Now, don't get me wrong. The current administration is no friend of gunowners by any stretch. But we can't rely on just headlines to get a clear picture of what is really going on.

Well we all know that more is coming. With what happened with amnesty, NSA, net neutrality and now a ammo ban. Are they just calling there shots on us?

There is nothing called M855A1 that is in circulation in the military. I'm not sure where you came up with that. I'm not even sure how you decided that M855 is obsolete. We're still buying it by the truckload and it's still the same noon armor piercing stuff it's always been. Hell - at 500 yards it typically won't even penetrate plywood.

2 years ago some handguns popular calibers were hard to find.
Presently, there's 3 boxes limit per customer at Walmart for.22lr.
5.56 are sold out everywhere and if you find them, the price went uuuuup!

I listen to rush everyday. He has been a strong advocate for RKBA and limited government.

Ive personally never heard him to be wrong. For one, his program isnt structured to where he just makes up storys. His storys are already news and he comments on those.

You libtards who condemn him are throwing away your legacy of freedom and limited govt. But then again your leader Barack Obama told you not to listen,so its understandable why you dont !

Yeap still doing the 3 box limit and now 556 is a no show. I feel like we are getting played but I think Barry is really just telling us "Im don't this and you cant stop me". Also I don't like Rush, he's a race baiter to me but I feel he is right on this. I was not surprised at all on the ban.

The US Army told me that. But what do they know.

The Army announced Wednesday it has begun shipping its new 5.56mm cartridge, the M855A1 Enhanced Performance Round, to support warfighters in Afghanistan.

PICATINNY ARSENAL, N.J. (June 23, 2010) -- The Army announced today it has begun shipping its new 5.56mm cartridge, the M855A1 Enhanced Performance Round, to support warfighters in Afghanistan.

The new M855A1 round is sometimes referred to as "green ammo."

The new round replaces the current M855 5.56mm cartridge that has been used by U.S. troops since the early 1980s.
A news article detailing the U.S. Army's comparison of the new 5.56mm M855A1 round lethality with that of the 7.62mm round.

It was even discussed here on CGN, five years ago.
