Not a review, but will certainly put some pics up on our forum and we might take the GoPro Hero along for some video.

We'll have to take the shell carrier off since it's a plastic prototype and will probably disintegrate under recoil.

You know, I have been wondering, what kind of gun lock will they sell with this and how will it work? I have an approved gun safe so can go that route.. but what kind of lock works with this and how is it done?

We'll take it out to shoot on Tuesday.
With 14 in the gun do you really need more weight strapped on the side? And you put a rail on the rail so we can rail while we rail?

Good question. How do you lock an Ithaca 37?

Probably with a stupid trigger lock.

That is no rail on a rail, I think it is THEIR rail. Since the shot shell holder and light are not mounted on the top rail picatiny slots, it looks like the intention is to have some sort of after market rail so these items can mount to the side of said rail (maybe through those slots?)... hence, their rail and the factory rail is gone.

But hell, as far as we know, the light and shot shell holder are just sitting there not attached or Photchopped in.

Putting their rail on top of the other rail would actually help, as the sights are completely useless they're raised up... or you can just lay your face accross the top of the gun to use the stock ones.

(Facepalm). Ok, go grab your westside fingers 870 and attempt to use bead or sights with your cheek on the reciever. Let us know about your findings.

HUH? who said anything about putting their face on the RECEIVER? Not me. You try that and Let us know about your findings. I'll use the stock, like everyone else. You can use the "receiver" for your face.

And, for the record, I clearly quoted another reviewer - a guy with a known reputation whos review you can find on the web - who actually used this gun and made the statements. You & I, we are speculating about the sight usage at this time, be he has used it and made some pretty clear and concise comments that contradict what you state.

Either way, you stick to putting your face on the receiver and I will stick to putting mine on the stock like these guys (oh, and notice the pattern of usage for the sights... or search Google yourself)

Ok, first off... the thing that all 3 of those guys have their face sitting against on the KSG? It's the receiver.

Second, those are folding BACK UP iron sights, BUIS.

Third, with a traditional shotgun stock, the centerline of the bore sits closer to your eye so that's why bead sights are shorter. The same applies to rifles, but then with something like an AR because the centerline of the bore is level with the stock, the sights need to be raised up to your eye level. The KSG needs higher sights just like an AR and for the same reason.

Yes, the sight radius when using the stock rail on the KSG(I'm sure someone will eventually make some sort of extension for the rear sight if it becomes popular enough and there is a demand for a longer sight radius) means it'll have a shorter sight radius. However, plenty of other long guns have just as short a sight radius and people use them just fine. Obviously by including the rail on top instead of just having some iron sights they intend for it to be used primarily with an optic, and that's what the people are doing in the 3 images you posted.

Check out the short field test by Lou Salseda ( TAC-1 Firearms Training) on Police Magazine website. Film done at Oak Tree range. Gotta have one of these.
