Picked mine up today. Cough, cough, I think I'm coming down with something and need to leave work early... Yeah right.

That looks like a nice shotgun. I couldnt decide on a 590 or saiga 12. The escort is priced just right. I'll keep my eye out for the next sale for the semi version.

        Just got home with mine!
Head down there ninja. If you are past the 240 hours I'm betting they'll let you go with it! Ask for the manager if you have to.

Hoping to get to the range by Thursday.

          Just picked up mine too.

You must remove the plastic plug!!! There is a plastic plug down the magazine tube that limits it to 2 shells. Unscrew the cap, then pull the plastic thing out, it looks like a dip stick that's about 8 inches long

The build quality is great. Everything functions smooth. I have dummy rounds and it loaded, chambered, and ejected like butter. Not even my mossberg 590 functoned as smooth.

Inside the small box was the spare FH (not gunna use it, it only adds length and weight) A spare plastic cap for the mag spring (slips over it where the shells get inserted)

Also about 6 different sized spacers. They are meant to adjust the angle of the buttstock but there really isn't any directions, so that will get figured out later.

Only thing I'm concerned about is replacement parts since the brand isn't as mainstream as most. But there is a 5 year warranty card it came with that you fill out.

I have 100 rounds of birdshot, 15 rounds of winchester super x 2 3/4" 00 buckshot, and going to pick up some low recoil 00 if I can find some befor Saturday. I'll shoot the crap out of it at the Barstow zombie shoot this weekend and report back

Well that makes 2 of us that will be out there putting the MP-A through it's paces. I have heard that low recoil rounds do not cycle on another forum. Look for my truck at the Zombie Shoot. It should be cooler weather(for the desert anyway) and an epic time.

I have the pump version. So any load will be fine.

There was another calgunner who has the mp-a while I was doing research befor buying that said he shot every type of load and it fed perfectly fine in his auto.

Im driving a blue fj with a flat black roof and matching flat black trim pieces thats all built for dirt. Cant miss it

Big 5, just like any other non mega store, is only worth shopping when the items are on sale. And as anybody who shops B5 knows, it's on sale ever three or four weeks.

Pro Tip: Get in good with the managers and they will, at most stores, just give you the sale price.

I have a store that is on my way home and I make an effort to stop by there at least once a week. Even if I don't buy anything I just pop in to say hi and see what is on sale or better yet being discontinued!

I've developed a good enough relationship that when I do miss the sale, I still don't miss the sale if you know what I mean.

Pro Pro Tip: Be cautious as some store managers are Nucking Futz

A while back a nice cal gunner was all hyped to buy a B5 Mosin but they were not on sale that week. So I called his local store thinking that I could get them to cut the guy a deal. This wack job of a manager went full tilt on me, screaming that Big 5 did not do that and that if she ever caught one of her people giving a sale price on something that wasn't on sale that she would fire them on the spot. I think she may have been new. Or hormonally unbalanced. It could go either way.

The manager at the store where I got my MP-A seemed pretty cool. Maybe I'll have to invest some time going by there. When I was there today, I saw a box of ammo that I know was almost $20 more then what I paid for it at another box store (I can't say Walmart because I hate that store even though they have good pricing on their .45 ammo.) Thanks for the tips.

I purchased the MP-2 pump and I wanted to see if anyone has looked into different barrels. This is my first shotgun and I like the idea of switching barrels out if it's possible. I've already taken it apart but knowing little about shotguns, I am curious to know if the Hatsan Escort MP-2 needs a matching barrel or will any 28" barrel work?

I was wondering the same thing about the Escort MP-A semi auto. On their website, Escort only lists the 18 and 20" barrel. I'd want to put on a 28" barrel.

I think this is a good excuse to pick up an additional shotgun with a 28" barrel!!!

Honestly, the MP-2 is a pretty gnarly looking home defense shotgun. I would feel weird out in the woods with it.

I may just wait for the Mossberg 500 combo kit in camo to come on sale and get that too.
