To be clear. Shotgun AW laws do limit the number of rds to 10 or less (unless you had the magazine/gun before hicap ban). I think what you are trying to say though is a fixed LEGAL hicap mag in a shotgun will not create an AW.
CA assault weapon laws do not limit the capacity of shotguns.

CA large capacity magazine laws limits the capacity of non-lever-action shotguns.

Again to be clear it's an entirely seperate penal code that prevents you from using more than 10 rounds, with the exception of a tube feed .22LR.

You are correct, Shotgun AW laws do not limit mag cap. your original statement made it sound like(to me) there were no rest. on mag capacity in shotguns

I stand corrected and am sorry for any confusion

Has any Turners given an ETA on when these shotguns will arrive?

Even if the capacity or the shotgun comes into play, how hard would it be to plug both mag tubes and limit it to 5 rounds per tube. Even in that configuration it hardly seems neutered.

Lever action instead of pump would be cool. Then there would be no need for this conversation.

If Kel-tec's performance in the last 5 years is any indication, you won't be able to buy these in California because only limited quantities will be made. The problem won't be that it's illegal to buy in CA, but that Kel-tec won't make very many.

Seems Kel-Tec is getting a lot of inquiries about this shotgun. They posted an update on 6/17/2011. http://www.keltecweapons.com/news/ksg-update-i

The text of that update is as follows for those that don't like following links:

Hello from Kel-Tec! We have been receiving numerous inquiries on the status of the KSG, so we felt an update was necessary. There had been some rumors that we had stopped production on the KSG, which we'd like to quell right now. The KSG is in early production at the moment with small runs going out for testing and evaluation. Things are moving along nicely here in regards to getting the KSG out on time. We are confident that the KSG will be shipping in full quantities by year's end as previously anticipated. We appreciate everyone's interest in this phenomenal shotgun design! If there are any changes we will be sure to post them here on the News section.

EVERY armourer in the movie industry is going to buy these. Coming soon to a science fiction, military adventure, or cop movie near you.

If this thing were semi auto, it would be cool. Pump, not so cool.

I agree semi would be way cool. If this thing ends up being well made and doesn't break things each time you fire it, I would probablly get one. It's one of the few bullpup anythings I have seen that is cool looking.

I might scratch the other toy I was going to get off my list and get one of these and save a few hundred at the same time.

Turner's is no longer taking deposits for KSGs. Their entire allocation has been spoken and until they get an additional allocation, they cannot ensure that a deposit today will result in a KSG in stock.

                            Figured I'd let everyone know.

Thing is if it's semi, we wouldn't be able to have it here n CA.
