Now let's see... first semi-auto rifles got labled "assault" rifles... let me throw out a wild guess and say this will be the first "slaughter" shotgun.
I love the media.Comment

doesn't matter if there is a pre-ban S-12 or not to use a 20-round drum in it. it isn't illegal to use a large-cap mag in a shotgun so why would anybody say anything about it.Im not going to argue with you on this, but my only question is how are people getting away with using the MD-20 (Saiga 20rd Drum) in their guns when buying them as a "parts kit". Ive seen people use them at public ranges and nobody has said anything about it. Like you stated above, there were NO Saiga 12's pre-ban anywhere to be had in this country.
whats up with that?
The only issue is being able to acquire the large-capacity drum. But usage of the mag is not a crime.Jack
Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

Aaahhh, I think I'm getting it now (Sorry, I am pretty dense). So it's not the ownership or use that is illegal, it is the selling or buying of such items that is illegal, right? So if someone sold a kit to convert say a 870 to have two mag tubes with a selector (like the kel-tec), that would be legal because it is a kit not a magazine (just yet), Did I get that right?-Colin

Start with assuming that the weapon is illegal because of the large capacity magazine. It isn't clear that it is illegal but assume it is. If you import a kit that can only have one purpose; the conversion of the 870 so it has an illegal magzine capacity, someone has a legal problem with the illegal importation and sale of those parts. The situation where there is a legal purpose is different, as is the case where pre-ban magazines are legal as is their repair.Aaahhh, I think I'm getting it now (Sorry, I am pretty dense). Ok, but doenst the law say that any firearm that is required to have a Bullet Button is limited to no more than 10rds? Does this not apply to shotguns then?doesn't matter if there is a pre-ban S-12 or not to use a 20-round drum in it. it isn't illegal to use a large-cap mag in a shotgun so why would anybody say anything about it.

Wore case is the tubes would have to PERMANENTLY plugged to 5 rounds each. Cali isn't going to let Kel-tec skirt the law by inserting a couple of wooden dowels.Comment

That's not entirely true. Bullet buttons are removable once you get out of state, as are SOLAR type bbs(from what I hear), and single shot sleds are reversible(again from what I hear). If these people were smart enough to see they were getting duped, they wouldn't come up with such assernine policies in the first place.Comment
