    TheKlawMan:

I called them and they know exactly that it is a shotgun and not a handgun. They are saying that it is a high capacity magazine shotgun and that is why they will not sale.

      That is their choice.

It is also our choice to avoid doing business with them.
Turner's is also taking pre-orders and apparently agrees with the comments above that the configuration is legal because it is actually two separate and selectable 7rd magazines.

According to this thread Kel tec is reconsidering it's CALEGALiTY
          http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=399723
That post says that it has been determined to be illegal. "My brother, a Southern CA LE LT, just got a call from Kel-Tec, canceling his pre-order for a KSG bull-pup shotgun, claiming it was 'determined' to be illegal in CA."

How could it be when Merc1138 assured everyone that I hadn't a clue what I was talking about and insisted that I was spreading FUD?

BTW, looking at that thread somoene asked why an LE couldn't get the keltec. No one answered but it may be that he hadn't placed an order under the LE exemption.

Let's get it straight. We were trolls spreading FUD. Our arguments pointing out the grey area on this being a hi-cap were totally bogus because the dual magazine concept was so simple to understand.
I just wish we had been wrong on this one.

Yep, trickster. I think all you, I, and some were saying was watch out because there is a good possibility that it will be found to be illegal. That possibility is beginning to look like a probability.

                It may still be FUD.

MP's brother may have ordered from Glockworld and not directly from Keltec.
Glockworld has decided that the gun is not legal in California.

Does anyone believe that there is anyone in their office at the CaDOJ on Presidents' Day that will make and release a decision on the KSG?

I'll be going to Turner's either tonight or at the latest tomorrow evening. I'll let everyone know if they still have their pre-order poster up.
If word came from KelTec or the CaDOJ that it's illegal in CA, Turner's will be one of the first shops to stop offering it.

KlawMan... you have a very annoying habit of throwing your weight around arguing against established members, including people who are on the legal team at the Calguns Foundation.
I'd recommend that you take a step back and pay some attention to what some of the pioneers in the "black rifle" movement have to say.

Master Pistolero confirmed that the call to his brother was indeed from Glockworld. NOT from KelTec.

Regarding the general issue of the Keltec Bullpup, I have read elsewhere, but cannot vouch for the poster, that the CaDOJ has taken the position that it is not legal.

As for the CaDOJ not working on a holiday weekend, could it be that a letter was sent a few days ago that only now is being acted upon by recipients.
Arguing against ESTABLISHED MEMBERS! I don't care how established anyone is, I don't argue against them. I do argue against poor and misleading arguements.

If you mean Kestryll, he was polite, fair and acknowledged that this matter needed to be discussed. Some others were not so open minded. I do not know who is on the legal team of the Calguns Foundation but I trust that some of what posters have opined is not representative of its legal representation. Perhaps that is unfair, as many a very good attorney, I am told, has been known to advocate a weak position. For that matter, has the Calguns Foundation even taken a position on the Keltec bullpup?

Legalities or not aside, middleman ffl, mags limited to 5 rounds each, DONE.

My posts have mostly been about how loooong KelTec takes from unveiling a new platform to actually rolling it off their assembly line.

Almost everyone is acting like a few protoypes on a gunshow table means it's ready and available. Who knows, these might be for sale around the same time that CGF defeats the Cali AWB (okay I'm sure they'll be out before then, but my point is, hang on, don't hold your breath, put your money in a savings account).

                            Kestryll (Paul)
He's actually the owner of Calguns.net, I'm not sure of his capacity under the CGF itself. CGN and CGF are two separate entities. CGN is simply this web site. CGF is a 503(c)(3) civil rights organization.
"TRP" or "The Right People" that we generally look to for opinions from the CGF would be Bill Wiese, Gene Hoffman, Brandon (Wildhawker), "Quark", and a few others. Oaklander used to be one of the front-line attorneys, but he resigned from the CGF due to some life changes (not due to any disagreements with CGF).

As far as "established"... of course you can't go by post count alone, but a join date prior to 2006/7 with a fair sized post count is a pretty good indication that they've been around the block a few times and have a good idea what they're talking about.

CGF has not yet given an opinion on the KSG, and from a legal standpoint, I don't see that they need to, given that the wording of the magazine capacity laws, for the most part, places the legal liability on the seller, rather than the buyer, with the exception of importation (manufacture would not come into play here).
Even if the DOJ rules the KSG to be illegal, it would not be illegal to receive one from Turner's.

If I had a nickel for every vendor that refused to sell AR lowers to CA because they, not the Ca DOJ, considered them illegal, I'd have enough to buy KSG's for us all! Just sayin'.

Really need to hear it from the horse's mouth. All else is indeed FUD.

The AWB has no bearing on the configuration of this gun.
It is purely a magazine capacity issue, and that law will be falling very soon.
