Beretta A300 Patrol

I use that Holosun, red version, on all of my pistols. I found it is not needed with a long gun because you get your cheek weld and it is right there every time. I have never had a problem hunting for the dot. For me, it helps tremendously to locate that dot more rapidly. I struggle with consistent presentation, muscle memory. That optic has been helping improve my speed when training.

Picked up my Patrol today, looking at side saddles from Esstac and not sure what size will fit the A300 action best. 5, 6 or 7 round.

This whole defense shotgun thing is new to me.... all my others just take 2 or 3 rounds. 🙂

Congratulations on your new SG. What color did you choose?
Let us know what side saddle you end up with. 6 rounds is pretty standard.
I was looking at ESSTAC and Vang Comp.
My other SGs have hard aluminum side saddles so this will be new to me as well.

Ordered a 6 shell card from esstac this morning.

Overall it is pretty much as expected and described on various forums. Have a desert trip planned in a couple of weeks and will do my best to get it filthy dirty.

Or like a 1301 Tactical. There is a group of CGers led by the pirate, OceanBob, who all bought 1301 Tacticals last year and spend a lot of coin to optimize them with Aridus treats, Magpul stocks, etc. Much of what we did for our 1301 Tacticals at the cost of a good amount of money, is already present on the A300 Patrol, which is impressive as hell.

Then there’s those of us who really didn’t do much to the 1301 tactical aside from adding a red dot and maybe a Magpul stock and sling and calling it a day. That’s all the 1301 really needs. All that other stuff is just unnecessary/personal preference. Even the Magpul stock isn’t necessary (you don’t need the cheek risers if you mount the shotgun properly). Only reason I went with it was for the additional sling attachment options and run it with no extra comb height. Being able to shorten the LOP is an added bonus of the Magpul stock as well.

Now that I’m thinking about it, I also added a Beretta Pro Lifter to my 1301. That’s a must if you’re taking a class and repeatedly loading a lot of shells and don’t think the A300 comes with the Pro Lifter.

The whole point of the Aridus CROM though is the rear sight and RDS co-witnessing with the 1301 T front sight. Does it do that on the A300 as well as on the 1301 Tactical if the RDS is sitting higher?

I didn't notice if the Holosun co-witnessed on the CROM, but I never check for that, either.

I'd rather have no BUIS on a weapon with an RDS. They just clutter up the view, IMO.

With the Holosun on the OEM pic rail and pic rail adapter, it's definitely higher than the CROM. I imagine that it wouldn't co-witness that high?
