The pre-crimp is well known to have the hole the little ball snaps into egg out.

Just got my new parts today.
Is it recommended to use any lube on this part to reduce friction?
Not where the ball snaps in, but where the crimp starts to reduce friction there.

Got my press on today. After a couple expletives spilled powder and shot. I got the machine dialed. I manually indexed then got it setup to auto index.

well just an update. was able to test out some of my loads 50 of them and had no issues or squibs. I assume ill become more familar with the press. Overall im happy with the purchase. Thanks to all that gave their input

So you were able to test out some loads already, man I wish I could get out during the week to do that.
Were these the Gun Club loads? If so, what's your formula?

I have a new project for my 9000. My #30 bushing drops lighter than what I want, and my #31 bushing drops WAY heavier than what I want. I have a smaller bushing that I will likely never use, so I'm going to open it up in an attempt to get the drop I want, 17.0 grains of Clay Dot.

I don't think so. That plastic is pretty self-lubricating.

It seems all is well so far, that's a good thing. Spills will happen, but you learn from them.

Agreed. The amount the bushing drops is a little less than what the chart suggests. My 36 bushing is supposed to be dropping 19.4. It avgs 19.0 to 19.1

Well, my #30 drops nearly exactly what is published, it's just a bit light for what I want. My #31 drops well over published data.
After some searching I found a chart that shows the diameter of the various bushings. All mine are right on the money, except for the #31 which is over sized. Playing with the numbers, volume vs. weight, I have come up with a diameter that "should" give me the drop I want. So, tomorrow I'm going to make one (open up a smaller one) and see if I'm right.

My data shows it should be .481"

When I have a bushing that throws a tad heavy of what I want, I use a light coat of finger nail polish until it’s throwing at what I want.

Exactly! Saves the busing if you ever want to restore it back as well,

I've seen a guy use a thin strip of duct tape, which i thought was pretty lame. I like your approach much better. Do you coat the whole interior, or just add a stripe?
