I’ve run many 7/8oz in the CB1100-12 and they work a lot better for lessdenser powders because it’s not as tall as the 0178.

I do see a load on Alliant's site that looks like it would work.

      2 3/4-in. Remington Plastic Shells
      7/8 shot wt.
      Rem 209P
      CB 0178-12
      18gr Clay Dot
      1250fps

I have a bushing that drops 17.8 consistently.
I would need a charge bar.

If there are no machine adjustments required, this may be workable.
But, as I said, I don't shoot much Skeet. So I'm in no hurry.

Oh yes with clay dot being one of the bulkiest powders out there you will need shorter wads than the 0178 (most likely). cb1100 and the dusters are popular in tapered hulls.

My current wad is a CB-1100-12, it could be used for either 7/8 or 1oz. To do this I think machine adjustments would be required.
          Gray (CB0178) and pink (CB1100).

Rem hulls. AA12HS is less roomy.

If you want to stick with the 1100...might try a AA12HS hull.

For me, the decision to reload was about both cost and getting a load I like.
I could shoot the cheap Walmart loads, but I usually can only find 1-1/8oz, I much prefer 1oz. When I find 1oz they have been 35~40% higher cost than what I had been paying.
When loading I go slow and deliberate, I do about 200 an hour. I could go faster, but I'm in no hurry. My loading bench is in my home office, I turn on some music and relax.

I can load at a pace of about 5 minutes a box. So a flat of 250 shells in a calm-but-in-the-groove hour.

I typically load and box a flat in a little over an hour on a MEC 9000. That also depends on if I have to reload powder and shot tubes. I enjoy the time in the garage and I don’t rush anything as this is one hobby you don’t want to get careless by trying to go too fast.

                    Like others:

On a single stage already tuned up and in a good rhythm 100 shells per hour is achievable.

On a progressive about 3X that.

I can do 2-3 shells per minute on either my 12 ga or.410 Pacific DL 266 single stage loaders.

On the 12 ga with the hulls pre sized and primers knocked out with either the first stage or my Lachmiller Sizer/Deprimer 3 is easy. The 12 ga. DL266 auto feeds primers.

I use this loader for making short runs, or specialty loads like light Buckshot, and Pumpkin Ball loads for 3 gun shoots. Or experimenting with new loads.

On the .410 DL266 you have to single feed primers so 2 per minute is more like it. But since .410's are $12.50 a box it is certainly worth the time.

The DL266's are arguably the best Single Stage Loaders out there, now discontinued but still readily available on the used market.

If I need lots of ammo then my DL366 progressive can do 250+ per hour easily.
