    Thanks for the offer!
    Based on what I found a #30 should measure .435" a #31 should measure .442".
    What I'm looking for is a #30.5 (I know it doesn't exist) at .439".
Since I had a small bushing I figured I'd never use, I decided to make a custom one. I got it opened up to .4375" but didn't have time to finish hone it. I'll do that Monday then check what it drops.

While adding tape or polish to a larger bushing would work, and in a pinch I'd probably do it that way. But, my line of work allows me access to many tools the average person simply doesn't have. So, it's easy for me to do it the hard way... It's more fun that way.

As an example, instead of buying one, I decided to make my own wad-knocker...

I got my custom bushing dialed in. I did 15 drops, the first two were 16.8 & 16.9, every one after that was 17.1. My target was 17.0, so I think it's good enough.
Now to load some and go test it out...

awesome , let me know how it works out

Ive been working on developing a skeet load. At this point im using the single stage for that so well see how it works out. Im using reclaimed shot for the skeet loads but when I run out i will likely load #8 or #9

For Sundays Sansei shoot I'm using the last of my factory loads. After that I think I'll run the same setup I use for Sporting, only switch from #7.5 to #9 and call it a day. The load should perform better than I can.

While I like the idea of a 7/8oz load for skeet, I'm just not sure it's worth the extra investment in $$$, space and time to do it. Now, if there were a GOOD Skeet field somewhat close to me, it might be a different story.

Not much investment needed, probably $50 t0 $75
                      A 7/8 ounce charge bar
A bag of 7/8 ounce wads
Same 209 primers you already use
Same hulls you already reload (or I can give you some gun clubs if you don't have any)
                      A couple of bushings
A pound of powder to start

I enjoy shooting skeet with 7/8 ounce with a 12 gauge

And, by using less lead, the shells will cost you less. Eventually, you will recover the cost of the charge bar and bushing.

Really, the $$$ is minimal, I could use my current wads, primers and hulls for 7/8oz. I would need a charge bar and a bushing (I would just buy a small one and open it up until it drops what I want). The bigger issues for me are setup time, time is limited, and space, space is limited and I need to keep the wife happy. My gun is very soft with the 1oz loads I use for Sporting, so recoil is not an issue at all. The thing is, I don't shoot much Skeet anymore because BBB's is the best around and it's a 70 mile drive.

I use 3/4oz of #8 (because #8 is the smallest I have) on skeet out of a 12ga and have had multiple 25s. They crush targets and cycle my A300.

                          Straight from Claybusters published data:

                          STS/GC
                          Ched209
                          16.6gr Clays
                          CB0175-12
                          328gr #8
                          1200fps at 8100psi

And you can make your 1oz bar drop 7/8oz very easily by cutting a piece of hull and shimming the bar. You start thick and you trim until it’s throwing what you want. I like 12ga AAHS hulls for my bushing/bar shimming.

FWIW, I shoot 7/8-9 at skeet and 1-8 at trap in 12g. Same charge of titewad, just change the CB wad from gray to pink when sticking with Rem hulls. No adjustments.

What are the part numbers of the wads you use?
My current wad is a CB-1100-12, it could be used for either 7/8 or 1oz. To do this I think machine adjustments would be required.

The CB0178-12 (WAA12L) is the gray wad for 7/8 ounce loads.
